Clothes Tutorial (Top)

LINK

For this first tutorial about clothes, I decided to focus on tops (I don't mean Tera, I mean shirts - ) It's an easy approach to the basics. The rules are kinda the same for jeans etc, but I'll do a part 2 with more stuff.

I hope it will be helpful to everyone who draws! I tried to make it clear (I mean I wrote stuff but mostly to "say something", the drawings should be helpful by themselves.

At the end I even added a second method that I actually never thought about lol. It works tho !

PS: I did the Do / Don't thing... but  Do/Don't  should always be taken with a pinch of salt. I see a lot of those on Instagram, Tumblr etc, and it usually makes me mad, because "Don't" are just ANOTHER WAY to do things. I even saw someone comparing a very "manga-ish" drawing (of their own) with a more realistic one (same), saying: The first one is amateurish while the other one was pro. Fuck you.

I also have to say that most of the time, when I find a Do/Don't in my feed, the only thing that comes to my mind is "Dude, get better yourself first before you give advice to others." I don't do a lot of tutorials because I know there's already a lot of it on Google. Yet when you search for it, the most popular ones are usually the worst.

That's why I keep telling you: if you like someone's job and find it inspiring, practice with it ! You can learn so much ! I never really looked into tutorials myself.

LOVE YOU !

PPS: that Animal Crossing direct. Guys I wasn't ready.

Thank you so much for this! My favorite kind of tutorial has a good mix of descriptions about how things work, step-by-step examples, and practical tips. You delivered all of that! I have to compliment the quality of your info. Please make more content like this, and more process videos too. Tutorials might not get as much of a response as cute sketches of your lovely boys, but they are so appreciated by struggling artists like me. When I love someone's work, I'm always excited to see their art advice and interested to know how they practice. About the Do / Don't thing, I don't see anything wrong with that if you're showing how to avoid a mistake or explaining how to make something better. That's different than dismissing an art style you don't like or insulting other people's preferences.
