Unwinding Wyrdwood S2 E2: Homecoming
Added 2025-07-18 20:05:00 +0000 UTCThe shadows lengthen and there's a rustling in the leaves... that can only mean one thing: It's time for Unwinding Wyrdwood! This week in our behind the scenes post show chat, join Dungeon Master Johnny Chiodini and Oxventure Producer Zack Fortais-Gomm as they discuss the god Cernunnos, handling long combat encounters, and just who the mysterious inquisition actually are. Enjoy, let us know what you thought in the comments and we'll see you here next week for episode three.

2025-07-23 17:40:12 +0000 UTCYeah, that was fun. What is also funny is the fact that when Lug halves his debt, he should be back to 1, because rounded down, right? I cannot stop thinking about that when Johnny emphasized that the players would never get backt to a debt of 1....

2025-07-19 18:54:39 +0000 UTCI imagine the Hive and the Inquisition as convergent evolution

2025-07-19 07:50:10 +0000 UTCI really relate to Johnny’s surprise at people’s reactions to descriptions. I didn’t realise how often I lean on horror in my DMing until I was asked to run a game for a group of 9 year olds and had to keep going over my notes and crossing out bits that weren’t kid friendly.

2025-07-19 05:58:31 +0000 UTCThe trap was so brilliant, Johnny played morvin like a fiddle!

2025-07-18 23:55:38 +0000 UTCI may have never felt something so deeply as “I’ve been present for every thought I’ve ever had”

2025-07-18 22:15:48 +0000 UTCJohnny, the correct term isn't "messed up", it's "cool"! 😉🙌

2025-07-18 22:02:27 +0000 UTCFun that this deity/god is Cernunnos - with the British and Irish mythology and folklore being in this campaign's DNA and already seen Johnny's own Wyrdwood versions of the Headless Horseman/Dullahan, the Green Man, and Peg Powler, I was expecting/hoping a wild hunt figure (first that sprang to mind was Herne the Hunter) would pop up. Nice! Know what's also nice? Everyone's reaction to Mike's debt roll but especially Johnny pointing and yelling "NO-ONE'S SAFE!" haha. They got 'em all.

2025-07-18 21:59:31 +0000 UTCJohnny's baseball bat analogy reminded me of the way my local group describes a juicy character backstory like that, which is "handing the GM an assortment of knives."

2025-07-18 21:20:00 +0000 UTCJohnny hitting us all in the quicksand fear cartoons gave us with them getting sucked under the earth.
