The law didn't differentiate homosexual acts from buggery of a woman or bestiality for that matter until roughly the 1880s when the implied understanding of homosexuality specifically as a concept emerged within the law. Earlier court records are littered with funny euphemisms regarding it, unnatural acts being the most common phrasing, and often if the court transcript advised that the ladies were required to leave the room for the proceedings as it contained an 'unspeakable enormity' etc. you could safely guess 9/10 times some boys touched dicks.
