Added 2024-11-18 05:04:58 +0000 UTCI hate Patreon. My inbox brings me to a 2FA loop, I don't have the option of rejecting iOS transactions (that will siphon up 1/3rd of your pledge), and I just wrote about 4 paragraphs that inexplicably didn't post anywhere.
Don't get me started on Discord. I've lost quite a lot of Patrons that just can't get into the server due to Patreon integration breaking and non-expiring invites expiring after a few minutes. Of course support for either of these platforms is as useful as you can imagine. 🙄😂
There's a much longer list that I won't bore you with, but this is ultimately good news as it's been a goal of mine to slowly cut the vines from platforms like this and have my own ship and crew. None of Patreon's functionality is above what can be accomplished with an open source CMS, and perhaps 2025 can be a long transition where your membership here crosses over for a seamless move.

I just wanted to drop in and say that your video on the issue of inauthentic content online is earnestly among the best representations of the issue that I’ve seen online. Thanks for that, it was a fantastic watch. I have studied this exact subject both through academic research and personal interest for the past 9 years now, and I currently work in an adjacent field professionally. It is an enormous problem, and I believe it is one of the most important issues that the average person must understand. Warfare doctrine is always evolving to stay effective. Very few people understand that the current bleeding edge of warfare exists not with the sword, but with the pen, so to speak. It can really be said that information “dominance” through social media is currently being used by nation-states to evolve past the outdated threat of nuclear armageddon as their most effective power projection tactic. Russia’s psychological operations to manufacture consent in Ukraine are a perfect case study of this that I cite to people all the time and I’m really happy you mentioned that. Anyway, I could go on about the subject for hours. Thanks again for your video. It’s legitimately an important piece of journalism!

But I doubt Librapay has the CMS-style gated community and hosting features you're looking for. Patreon does provide a bit of a service. It's a shame Apple's business model is so awful. As I live in Australia, the premieres tend to be in the middle of the night, but I get the notification on YouTube - and now here as well, it seems - well before they're viewable.
