A change for the Patreon going forward?

EDIT: EVEN IF YOU ONLY VOTE PLEASE DO, I REALLY WANT TO HEAR EVERYBODY'S PERSPECTIVES ON THIS!

Hello everybody, this is an important message and question so please read it and let me know what you think.

When I started this patreon, my goal was to facilitate making my own projects. Games, Animations, Comics; things like TMMS and the Suki game, and many other projects that sit in limbo. I have pursued that doggedly and you've all allowed me to make a TON of things. However I think I made a mistake in the middle lifespan of the project.

When I started this Patreon out, my whole format was as follows:

-1 Finished, voted on piece a month and 1 Coloured Sketch runner up.

-Anything else I could muster for my personal projects early.

Now this worked for awhile, I kept doing things and making progress on stuff...but I decided sometime about two years ago or more to start doing TWO finished pieces a month and a bonus of my choosing from the lists for everybody to see. This seemed reasonable, and for many ways it was, but I have ended up spending too much time on that now on top of everything else. It's been very fun doing all those pieces, but keeping up with them while also pushing my own work forward has been difficult. I've been able to work in the evenings on smaller things, but not being able to devote as much of my brainpan to the bigger projects more regularly is proving very challenging (not to mention other work for conventions and the like).

I have also noticed another trend in my work that I'm having fun with, but dissatisfied by. I've been making a LOT of cool merch for my characters...while not making enough content OF them. While I do want to make something that is financially sustainable for myself, I don't want to just 'cash out' my cast and characters, not when I have so many more stories and plans for them all.

The biggest place I've felt all of this has been in TMMS. I'm so mad at myself for not finishing the epilogue comic strips and moving it onto the next phase. In all of this I've not been able to find time to make all of this happen and it's eating me alive. Couple this with other difficulties in my life for the last year (I'll go into those in another journal) and I just feel I'm letting my own work fall to the wayside in the service of fanart and merch and that's just not right, that's not what I'm trying to build.

Getting two months to work on my own projects has resulted in an art pack and will soon be a comic book and animation, as well as more I hope to get done, and while I'm SO grateful for your support in having those months to make more substantive things, I would like to ask everybody's opinion on clawing back a bit of my original vision for the page.

So what does this mean exactly? Here's the current layout of the promised patreon rewards:

And all I want to change is just the one thing:

Basically, one less voting reward, but that time turned back to my own efforts to finish TMMS, to finish ANY of the animations I'm on, to start on Disruptive Tendencies 2, all of those good things I still have people vote for on the Month's of Mabo. Is this reasonable to you, my supporters? Do you have any nuanced takes or comments you'd like to make? Please vote and let me hear your voices as well, I want to make this work for all of us! Thank you for your time <3

It is, but I've made it work. I dunno, either way I can function, I just want to make more substantive stuff of my own world than more fanart alone.

Mabo

Gotta vote for you doing what makes you happiest with your art. I think your best stuff has come from your passions and sticking to a more rigid art schedule can be so so hard.

Dublone

I appreciate your perspective! No worries, you can be honest. I wouldn't remove it entirely because I want people to be able to participate in the voting process to determine at least some direction of my work, I just need to get it back under control

Mabo

tbh, no insults to the voted on finished pieces, but your personal projects have always excited me way more. I'd happily accept even if you decided to make your workload 100% the bigger and personal projects and scrap the finished pieces, but I know that might not be the most popular choice.
