"Wind slips through the stone passages. Strange flutes echo from somewhere below. The air is still, but not quiet. Something is awake in the dark. Something old. Something wrong."
Hey folks!
Today's track is directly inspired by the Czepeku map Shadowlands Pyramid, which combines Mesoamerican-style temple architecture with the dread of the Shadowfell. It's a weird, rich mix of vibes that I really wanted to lean into.
The first half of the track plays around with major chord tones, but made wrong, slightly out of tune, slightly off-centre, just unsettling enough to make your skin crawl. Then, about halfway through, it gets more atonal and weird!
You’ll hear atonal choir clusters, dark drones, ancient South American flutes, strange otherworldly synths, and ominous drones.
It’s a good track for cursed ruins and strange rituals.

Crystalline Metals – A more meditative and mystical version. This one trades out the dread for wonder, with shimmering metallic tones and softened textures.
