Campaign 1: Nick Character Sneak Peek
Added 2023-02-11 16:57:47 +0000 UTCName: Styrmir
Class: Cleric - Tempest
Race: Human
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Age: 56
Background
- Left as a baby on the steps of a local church, named Randal by the priests and nurses.
- Raised in the church doing menial tasks such as cleaning and mending. There was some effort made to educate him in religious matters but he was never the most enthusiastic student.
- Lived at the church until the age of 16 when he joined the army to see the world
- Served as a sailor in the army for many years until one day his ship was attacked off the coast by monsters.
- Thrown overboard by a lizardman, Randel thought for sure he was dead, ready to meet his maker. The end of a miserable life full of self sacrifice he suddenly found himself held from below and being carried to the shore.
- Rescued by a merman Randel passed out on the beach only to awake within a temple being tended to by a priest of Nadinis. Explaining his miraculous story to the priest the priest declared he had been saved by Nadinis’ own hand as the merfolk are her greatest servants.
- In that moment Randal pledged himself to Nadinis and was baptised being reborn as Styrmir.
- Once well enough Styrmir threw himself into cleric studies under the tutelage of the priests in this temple before eventually gaining clerichood and returning to his position in the army. This time as a cleric of Nadinis to help guide bedraggled sailors to safety across the seas as Nadinis once did for him.
Characteristics
- Tries to do the right thing at all times
- Bound by contract he will follow orders but he lives life through his own sense of morality. He would not follow an order to kill an innocent man or to leave a soldier behind if he thought there was a real chance of saving them.
- Styrmir is quick to anger, especially at those he believes are acting in the wrong. His go to response to cruelness is to meet it with anger and force.
- Outside of his cleric duties to Nadinis the thing that sets him off the most is bullies or those trying to take advantage of others.
- Little respect for noble titles or the hierarchy of the nobility. In fact he believes that nobility leads to people that are spoilt and arrogant, they think themselves superior and that allows them to mistreat their fellow man and the land that provides for them.
- Despite having no children he often places himself as a father figure in relationships with other men, hoping to instill within them the same characteristics he adopted when he was reborn.
Comments
