2025-01-03 18:43:21 +0000 UTCI re-watched it recently and found myself becoming less entertained by it as it progressed. Whilst the third series had a few decent moments, it was mostly stupid rather than funny. (I did like the ending though). I think the best episodes are definitely in the first and second series.

It was released here in the UK on Christmas Day on BBC One, and it was absolutely BRILLIANT 😂 Personally I thought it was better than the last two (Matter Of Loaf and Death, and Curse of the Were-Rabbit)! I know you have a schedule etc but I would love it if you could still react to it (if you can find the time of course), and I’m plenty of other members would love to see it too 😄

2024-12-29 17:04:03 +0000 UTCSeries 3 was a total car crash compared to series 1 and 2 but I actually really liked that ending. It was absurdly dark for such an otherwise upbeat and neon-bright sitcom, and while I feel the whole of series 3 seemed quite a departure from series 1 and 2, Linda's character especially changing quite noticeably, I actually liked the rug pull they did at the end here. It's the complete opposite of predictable and the last thing you'd expect from such a cartoonish comedy. Obviously Kathy wore a wig the whole time as Linda but I don't think Linda was supposed to be wearing a wig the whole time, just at the end, and yes, she was telling the truth after all. I can't recall if they ever planned a series 4, but they'd have simply had Tom back because Crossroads was axed, so that's an easy fix. Crossroads aired from 1964-1988 and was axed. It was brought back in 2001, which is why Tom could get a part in it, but it didn't last long as it was axed for a second time in 2003. I don't think I ever saw a whole episode. Set in a motel, wooden acting, wobbly sets etc. Linda could've made a miraculous recovery with little to no explanation, just a throwaway line or something. Given the drop in quality, I'm glad it didn't return. I'm still baffled by it because the same writer wrote every episode through all 3 series (Jonathan Harvey) and it's Kathy's performance as Linda that felt wildly different here too; something was seriously off about it all in series 3, and that's a shame as I love Kathy Burke. Onwards! New show incoming! 😃
