Much as I loved Caroline Quentin as Maddie and Julia Sawalha as Carla, there's no denying that the wonderful Sheridan Smith as Joey really lifted this one. You didn't mention it but did you recognise her? She played Emma, Anthony's girlfriend in The Royle Family, and also Christine, in the Inside No. 9 episode, The 12 Days of Christine. She's been in tons of other things too, one of the most celebrated actresses on British television. π
