Please also tell him about the time that a delivery man put a plant in Victor Meldrew's downstairs lavatory. Mr Meldrew then had to phone the company and explain that he put it in the bowl! "I didn't catch his name. It may well have been Frank Spencer!" he says.

You might now get the reference in only fools and horses when Del puts the beret on when theyre going to Alberts reunion in France and Del says "I've always been a bit of a Francophile"
And Rodney says "more like a Franko Spencer"

I love how his idea of mending something is just smashing it multiple times with a hammer

Funniest moment - the bed comes out of the wall, and Frank literally tumbles out of the room, across the passage, and into the toilet where Betty is waiting, all the time singing 'When I'm Calling You' from 'Rose Marie' ( don't ask ).
Second funniest moment - Mr.Fletcher is about to sign the contracts when Frank's handiwork causes the table to vanish into the floor. With nothing to rest the document on, he falls off his chair. Then the whole house goes berserk...

The second 'Some Mothers' is also one of my favourites. It's a riotous, breathless episode, with some really laugh out loud moments. Frank was somewhat accident prone in the previous episode, here though he's a walking disaster.

Have never seen this one but two minutes in and it feels like a very Buster Keaton setup…

This is probably my favourite episode. Frank Spencer was just the perfect character to put in any situation just to see what would happen.
It’s so funny watching Michael Crawford, knowing that his most famous role in America, was the original Phantom in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘Phantom of the Opera’.

Considering this was in the 70s and made by the BBC who were notorious for spending very little on shows, they did a great job with the gadgets and special effects in this episode...
It looks like they gave this show a much bigger budget than Fawlty Towers for example which also produced by the BBC around the same time... Fawlty Towers was famous for its cheap sets and wobbly walls!
