2023-09-19 18:49:29 +0000 UTCOne of my favourite episodes, Mandy is one of my favourite characters in the show. Since watching This Country, I see Len is in loads of things, Call The Midwives, Outnumbered, Poirot, Grantchester and Midsomer Murder too name a few.

Len, with the big beard is their real uncle, Kerry's dad is their real dad.. lots of family in the show.. all unknown actors basically until this came out... Except Mandy.. you might not recognise her but Mandy is the woman from Derek, the one who's mum had the ring she wanted that she kicked off about.. also she plays the woman who runs the cafe in Man Down.

Not necessarily as it can refer to small shopkeepers, but that’s become less of a thing these days, used to be more widespread than that. The reverend would be reverend not mister, that’s how it works here

I've met people just like Mandy and of course Kurtan and Kerry too! The characters are so well drawn! Ashley McGuire plays Mandy to a T. Pitch perfect. I just know you're going to absolutely treasure this series as it goes on, Josh! Series 2 is even better but I love every second of it. I'm going to put another recommendation in for Detectorists! It's another superbly written and performed piece of work, written by and starring Mackenzie Crook (Gareth from The Office.)

2023-09-18 23:46:07 +0000 UTCThe writing and acting are superb, it's so natural and honest, doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't. The characters work so well together and Mandy is a personal favourite of mine - really mixes things up!! Hilarious, we'll done on a great programme!
