This episode really was the coming together of a cluster lode of plotlines one on top of the other; or as Malcolm once said, 'an omnishambles'. (I'm guessing someone's pointed out 'omnishambles' is in the English dictionary because of The Thick Of It?) I reacted to the REM-drop meself. Stating 'End of the World' was by The Bangles is typical Tucker denigration. Comparing Buck's jangly sound and Stipe's deep lyrics in their late 80s pop era, to The Bangles' more commercial label-linked fare. Bonus fact: both bands were signed to IRS in the 80s.

2023-07-05 16:12:29 +0000 UTCThe turnout for Fergus new Carer policy being described as 'looking like a paedophiles funeral' was such a good line, love the little quips that get dropped so unexpectedly in this show. I just noticed that the guy carer in this episode is the main character in the 'Hang the DJ' episode of Black Mirror you watched recently, the one in the dating app simulation. He's also in Peaky Blinders, not sure if you've seen that or not.

2023-07-05 06:21:53 +0000 UTCThe inquiry biting everybody in the arse is such sweet justice to all of these awful, selfish characters. The only characters who actually deserve a happy ending here are Glenn, Teri, Peter and maybe Nicola but that's just pity on my part at her own incompetence 😂 I love this show so much but there's very few people you actually root for in it, it's nice to see it all crumble around them. I think the last 2 episodes are a really unique and perfect way to end the show, look forward to seeing what you think of how it all wraps up!
