2022-09-23 08:17:45 +0000 UTCIt's one thing to give Annette Crosbie a sweary script (After Life) but it's so much more impactful seeing her break character and be shocked that she said "oh fuck it" out loud! 😂 This was shot 3 or 4 years before the UK government banned smoking in indoor workplaces, so they probably wouldn't be able to use real cigarettes today!

It's not wholly unique for a comedy character to be cynical, eccentric, alcoholic, antisocial etc. but Dylan Moran does bring something unique to him. I'm just remembering how much you hated his character in Shaun of the Dead, I wonder if you even remember that it's the same actor as the characters are so different (Both arseholes, but in different ways!) You're right, the great thing about outtakes is seeing how much fun the actors had making the show, but it must be awfully frustrating having to reset everything! I've been involved in making student films when in college, and I remember how long even they drag on for! Looking forward to the next show, would really love to see Derry Girls on the next poll.
