Time To Vote for Movies again !!! August 2022 Poll #1

If a movie you requested did not make it on this list please check the list below to make sure it has not been requested by someone else. If it has not been requested yet please leave your request in the comment section. I will add it to the list and it will be added to a future poll

This Poll contains the 25 movies with the highest votes from the previous polls.

Movies that I have seen before were not added to the poll, they are listed below.

You are allowed to vote on more than one movie.

Why is there a second poll?

TLDR version: Two top-voted movies will be selected from this poll and two from Poll #2 . Poll #2 will consist of movies from the list at the bottom of this post. We will work our way from the bottom of the list to the top. This poll will follow the same process we have always followed.

Watch this video if you would like more details about this change. Thanks, folks  !!

This is such a perfect summation of the problem with the movie selections I had to write a long-delayed reply to commend it. You basically put your finger on the reason why the slot died.

Saul

The people who voted for it I guess

S R

mwdoom - I'm not sure what you mean?

W Martin

??

W Martin

W Martin "So if you could just add it to the poll that would be great"

mwdoom

no spoilers ;)

mwdoom

It is an odd choice, Love Actually. Its a romantic chick flick, realistically not reeally for watching on your own. solid cast though

Danny

Office Space is a fantastic film. Would get my vote, definitely.

Steve Read

I don't watch the movie's. I don't vote on the movie's. The list's are littered with paint by number's comedy films. It's like they've made a 100 hour film and every 90 minutes or so they pass the batton to a new cast and sets and the comedy is exactly the same and the characters are exactly the same. There are some good films on the list but most of them are not good reaction films. You need to have events in them that someone can have a reaction too. Either comic or action. I can without watching tell you what Joshs reaction to Whicker Man was like. An hour and half of short comments on the weirdo's doing weirdo things. A couple of gags during Brits dance. And most of the talking at the set piece at the end. It would have been better to ask him to watch it and post a 10 minute video with his conclusions. How can a film about a man being slowly consumed by evil be a good reaction film. The good films on the list are mostly very cerebral and don't make interesting reaction films. How can you make him sit through 3 hours of Titanic. Nothing happens until the ship starts sinking. If he doesn't like romance. God help him. The film choice needs a complete overhaul. Josh needs to lay down some stipulations and ground rules about the style of films that make the list. There's so many that trundle along then all of a sudden nothing happens.

Colin Bayley

Wow some terrible movies on the list to react to. Not really a fan of movie reactions. I think it would be better to have a list of comedy stand up/specials to react to instead. Much shorter and more entertaining. Who has the time to sit though 3 hours of Titanic!!

Faisal Ramzan

Use his site to help navigate old stuff better. Its pretty upto date but has all the old stuff https://www.afterworkreactions.com/

Danny

I’ll get my coat 🤣

Rich Moyse

He did it a year ago 😅 https://www.patreon.com/posts/dead-mans-shoes-54664554?

Danny

Its soo good. I think it counts as a cult classic now. I saw one Youtuber do a reaction to it and got like 300k views. Needs to be seen by everyone! A film that everyone who seen it comes out the woodwork to show their love for.

Danny

Hey Josh, I’ve been here in the background a long time now, any chance you could add ‘dead mans shoes’ to the next movie poll…..cheers mate

Rich Moyse

Great film

Richard M

Love Actually is a great choice to follow-up as a long desert after a good boozy meal with your lass/lad. Or so I would presume as I've been merrily living a life never having seen Titanic without really trying to avoid it. Still to each their own and whats life without trying something you wouldn't every once in a while. ;^)

Funny That

I'm just voting Kung-fu hustle cause its fun af

mrtheevilmage

Titanic is fine in my opinion, but Love Actually is a bit of an odd choice.

Lee

Titanic will always get flack but it is a BIG landmark movie in film history and I think everyone should watch it just to say theyve seen it, for better or worse. Visually its amazing

Danny

Ladykillers for me Such easier looking times In colour version

Gareth Hood

I love your reactions Josh and been a sub since early Bottom/Peep Show days, I have requested Office Space for the last few polls and it's not been added to the poll or already watched. I know it won't win as it's not that popular a film, but would really appreciate it being noted and added

W Martin

The thing about Titanic is, in my opinion, the elements that are good, are really great, but you could cut out so much of that movie and it could be even better. Jack & Rose take up far too much of the film, I know they're the main characters, but why are they?

Ben

Top Secret has got to be the best spoof I've ever seen

Stephen Richards

Consider giving a vote to Hunt for the Wilderpeople, quite similar to Jojo Rabbit which Josh enjoyed, same director, less heavy subject matter, great performances. It's disappointing that it's not doing all that well in the polls. (Obviously if you have seen it and don't like it, then disregard my comment!)

Ben

I think Titanic gets a lot of unnecessary stick. At the time, everyone seemed to love it. These days it's quite fashionable to slate it. It's not artistically excellent or a dramatic masterpiece by any stretch but it's technically brilliant, some great performances, and enjoyable blockbuster fare. Oh, and David Warner RIP.

Ash Jeffries

As we lost David Warner recently I've voted Titanic, not a fan of the love story but the action involving the ships sinking is fantastic.

will doyle

Very few of the film choices are appealing to me this month to be honest. I'm a bit surprised Love Actually is doing so well given Josh doesn't like romance stuff. I wish 2 Sundays a month were movies and 2 were live stand up comedy shows, personally, but that's just me being selfish because I'm not a huge fan of most of the film options :D I think I'll vote for The Elephant Man because it's been on the polls from the beginning and never makes it plus Josh will get to see one of Karl P's favourite films 🙂

BelladonnicHazeyJaneII

The Guard, Sightseers and Hunt For The Wilderpeople the stand out films here.

Chris

Grosse Pointe Blank and Eternal Sunshine still not getting the love they deserve. :(

Jay

Can you add 24 Hour Party People please? Has loads of UK comedians you've become accustomed to

David L

I don't mind it, but it's a Christmas movie, who would want to watch it in August? Also, Josh has stated multiple times that he does not like romance in movies, it's just not something he enjoys, so why recommend it to him?

Ben

can't believe the likes of The Ladykillers, The Producers and Twelve Monkeys is being beaten by stuff like Law Abiding Citizen and Love Actually. Who is voting on these polls and what happened to their taste?

lime

You aren't that bad

Cherzo

Titanic is a brilliant film. Love actually...not so much.

Luke Barron

omg you have some awful subscribers lol

Jade Nepia

please can you add green street next month

Jake Lol

I really do try not to do the whole criticising other people's taste thing, but oh my god Love Actually. The absolute nadir of safe yet vaguely trying to be edgy, creepy middle class fuckery. URGH!

Richard M

Hope love actually and titanic win soon so we can get those two crap movies out of the way fast

Cherzo
