Ugh god that spider had me looking up at the ceiling and walls every few minutes before I went to bed last night 😬

BelladonnicHazeyJaneII

one of my favourite episodes/specials, i am biased to 80s and 90s comedy over the 2010+ ones ,seems the writing isnt as witty

Victor and Patrick in the house together was giving off vibes of Homer and Mr Burns in the cabin together πŸ˜…

Danny

Patrick had that same moustache in Mr Bean when he is on the park bench next to Mr Bean making the sandwich

Great reaction as always, Josh! :-D This episode causes me a real problem. It's a particularly brilliant episode of my all-time favourite situation comedy.... but I'm afraid I share Patrick and Pippa's morbid fear of spiders, and the one in this is particularly large and ugly! The little tarantula in Home Alone I was OK with... not ideal, but it was relatively tame-looking and small compared to some..... but this monstrosity? God no. Ugh! It's quite a sinister episode altogether, even for OFITG standards, haha! But yeah, with Phil Daniels and that awful spider it's pretty intense - I have learned which scenes not to look at the screen but it's a very funny episode too as ever of course. Love the Patrick and Victor scenes especially. Renwick's such a brilliant architect where plot is concerned, and you just don't get this level with most other situation comedies. And that fake-out at the end was pretty chilling at the time and you really didn't know whether there was going to be another episode as there were 5 years between series. Of course, you've seen the next episode, Starbound, already, and then we've one more special (from 1997) before we move to series 6, the final series, which didn't air until 2000, so the series did suffer a bit of a gap - similar to the gaps OFAH had in the 90s, between series 7 and the original finale.

What another blast to my Friday entertainment I enjoyed watching your reaction Josh to this drama, thriller, comedy and even some action at the end with Victor putting his life on the line James Bond like through the window Lol Great stuff .

Peak OFITG for me. It was a stroke of genius to throw Victor and Patrick together for a full-length special, and it's another episode where every little detail pays off with a joke, right down to the scarecrow reference at the end. The only slight shame is that last week's episode mix-up took away the full impact of seeing Victor's name on the gravestone, as you obviously know he can't be dead. When this was first broadcast, being a one-off Christmas special, there was always the possibility in the viewer's mind that it might be intended as the show's final episode, and those couple of minutes in the cemetery had us on tenterhooks. When Margaret walks into the living room and Victor's moaning at the TV, you can hear the palpable relief in the audience's laughter - it's a fantastic moment.

In my opinion this should’ve always been the last episode

Keelan

I always loved this episode. That bit when he's waving that banana down the toilet ALWAYS gives me a fit of the gigglesπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸŒπŸŒ

You know Josh has been watching a lot of British shows when he's pronouncing it 'peedo' instead of 'peddo'! Love it :) By the way, just a minor nitpick, but Patrick's wife is called Pippa (a shortened version of Philippa). Pepper's not a common name at all here, unless you're in a Beatles song, a cartoon pig or married to Iron Man ;)

Great reaction as always, hope you have a nice week!

Clowd

Nice! Happy Birthday, hope you had a good one πŸ»πŸŽ‰

Excellent! Because of last week's mix up, I get to see your reaction to one of my favourite episodes on my birthday. What a great present!
