Red Dwarf: Season 11, Episode 5 Krysis

To be honest, I've stopped watching the Red Dwarf reactions since the Dave version began (sorry Josh, no offence). It just reminded me why I gave up on it in the first place. An iconic, wonderful show that has been running on fumes for a while now, relying on its core fanbase and status to stay afloat. I've seen a few recent Dave episodes and they were entertaining, but it's a format that's been milked dry. Similar to Star Wars and Star Trek, there's only a finite amount of ideas in a certain format before it starts repeating itself and watering itself down. Personally it damages the joy and experience I had in the beginning, when all these formats were fresh and exciting. It's like anything that was great in the beginning, you continue because you want to get feeling of excitment again, but the more you do it the more you realise it will never be the same again. A bit like trying to recreate that feeling of wonderment at Christmas by repeating the same rituals over and over, while knowing deep down that you'll never have the same amount of joy you once had.

I agree man! I think it is good to have a nostalgic show or movie that brings you back to simple times. Mine is Star Trek, but I think of I saw Red Dwarf when I was a kid I am sure I would love it just the same.

I think having grown up with the show since I was 10 has helped, it has always been in the background in life and you can almost depend on the characters, they have stayed the same while everything around you changes as you grow... sometimes its nice to remember how life seemed easier back then and the laughs and smiles it give you.... or have I got the universe on hold :)

I've fallen in love with the characters and I still enjoy it a lot.I'm gonna miss the weekly reactions and talking to other fans about it in the comment sections when it's over .But I do have joining the subreddit once I'm done reacting to the show to look forward to .I'm definitely life long fan now , Haven't joined yet because I don't want any spoilers . But it's almost over soon bud 😂 no worries .

I know why people voted for it; a friend and I used to be huge fans back in the mid-90s but (despite being a fan of humour that a lot of people find deeply unfunny, like cringe stuff like the Inbetweeners, This Country, Man Down, Cuckoo, etc and prank stuff like Bad Robots (why has that never made the cut on here?), Face Jacker, etc) this show has aged badly and 95% of it just isn’t funny anymore. Oh well - can’t win ‘em all and as long as SOMEONE enjoys this stuff that’s probably good enough.

A friend of mine was in the studio audience for this episode. When Cat says "You talking about me?", you can hear is deep laugh. He brings it up a lot.
