Mad to think Archie Panjabi (Meena) is around 26 here playing a school girl. Also since then she's been in pretty big Hollywood movies and American network shows. She's done voices for Star Wars: The Bad Batch and BoJack Horseman, was in The Good Wife and Brooklyn 99. Quite the trajectory.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but was Sajid getting his hood ripped off a thematic callback to him being circumsised? ;) Also I found it funny how moral questions about religion are being raised and Josh is sitting there wearing that particular t-shirt like he's subconsciously making a statement!

Really loved this movie, very relatable for me being of Sri Lankan Tamil background born and growing up in a very non diverse South England in the 90s and 2000s. So many relatable moments with the way my father was with me growing up. And now the pushing for arranged marriage now that I’ve grown up. My experience wasn’t quite as crazy as in this film but definitely relatable. Sat around family bored out of your skull, going to nightclubs and being the only person of colour there, the way the father is depicted was very similar to mine- only cares about himself and his pride

Jehan Ariyaratnam

Great film. Good to see it again. I swear the vicar at the beginning is a vicar in one of the Father Ted episodes - the Father who doesn't stop talking lol.

Matt Anderson

Really enjoyed this film, used to have it on DVD, haven't watched it in years.

The little boy in a parka coat is like the Indian version of Kenny from South Park.
