I’m just after watching your reaction to “This is England” and I am absolutely loving it. What I wanted to say though is that the story does NOT end with this film. They made THREE FULL SERIES of 48(ish) minute episodes delving much deeper into the stories/histories of the characters. Especially the one with Lol which is the story I can relate to the most out of all the others. So could I request that you react to them? I’ll send you a full episode guide and everything, I’ve just bought a brand new HP Pavilion desktop for just short of £1,000 so I’ll be able to write you up like a full itinerary for the episodes and everything, and if It is to be I will even pledge you some extra on top of my subscription to this Patreon.. say, a fiver (£5) per season? Can’t say fairer than that can I pal? Hope you’re having a cracking week, hope this message finds you well, much love and respect bro, looking forward to the upcoming only fools episodes to man! It’s gonna be pure quality!

Luke Mills

He's just coming up on 1400, so 15%?

Z is for Zed

Often wondered if these polls would work better if everyone selected what they definitely didn’t want to watch, and we’d be left with shows people either wanted to see, or shows they were indifferent to. There’s plenty on there (and shows that have won in the past) that I wouldn’t vote for, but would be prepared to endure (Friday Night Dinners, Black Books, Spaced etc...). There’s also a few I’d probably stop watching after a few weeks. G&S (Because it’s a light hearted soap opera), LOG (It’s just plain weird), TM (because it’s just a panel show) etc.... At time of writing, League o Gentlemen is winning with 204 votes. Out of interest I wonder what percentage 204 Patreon’s is to the overall total.

Gary Tamblyn

Improvement.... But it's inevitable. Bean and Task will come again.

Contex - It's Just A Ride

Makes sense to watch series 1 of Taskmaster and then Josh can judge whether it deserves to go on the other, long series poll.

Jamie Sherry

What? You would rather watch Taskmaster than Mr Bean? You think Josh would find a hilarious TV show more enjoyable than some some broad shit for dementia patients? What's wrong with you man!

Jamie Sherry

Can we move taskmaster to the long show poll in the future if it doesn’t win or does it just permanently stay on the short polls for every season?…

Lee

Bad lads Army would be a good one to add to the list. Plenty of funny moments and it does really well on other reaction channels on YouTube.

Lee

Yeah season 7 is probably my favourite, Rhod Gilbert was just a genius 😂 but there’s so many other great seasons. One of my favourite moments was in season 2 with Joe Wilkinson and the patato hole in one 😂😂

Jason

LoG FTW

SP

LoG - 195 TM - 187

Keith Pratt

Come on Royle family

Brad

Really want taskmaster to win, your love this show. How close this is, is really stressing me out 😩

Jason

also voting for Allan Partritch shows cause you know....for more of the fictious deep lore of Allans life in TV and Radio

mrtheevilmage

I'm neutrual on taskmaster so I'll be cool if it wins, but I do hope Josh gets to see toast of London cause he did say he wanted to see more Matt Berry stuff and that show is Berry at his finest, shit even this is england 86 at some point would be cool, good drama and a nice continuation from the film with further character development.

mrtheevilmage

Not sure how adding to the poll works but I highly recommend ‘Clarkson’s Farm’ it is superb. It’s even up on the top TV shows on IMBD score now. Funny, educational, it’s just a fantastic watch from Jeremy Clarkson.

A

LoG and Taskmaster are neck and neck. Any neutrals out there please give LoG the win..it's been a lifetime!

Sam Reeves

Agreed, it's a great show that owes a little debt to The Office, but then of course Ricky and Steve owe a lot to Garry Shandling.

Jamie Sherry

I agree - TM belongs on the shortlist. I also reckon Josh would enjoy a break from purely scripted comedy

Jamie Sherry

I suspect older gentlemen with a rose-tinted view of their favourite shite 70s sitcom are dedicated to making Josh watch it like he's Alex in A Clockwork Orange. I mean, I can't think of any other poll in the world that could possibly be won by either Come Fly With Me or Gavin and Stacey.

Jamie Sherry

Come Fly with Me ended today, we should be getting another poll! (Although knowing our luck Mr Bean will bloody overtake LoG!)

Manly Stump

Haha... You joker...

Chris

Don't worry! We're only getting one season. He's keeping all the people who find it "repetitive" very happy.

Raindog

Taskmaster is funnier than three quarters of the shows on this list.

Podey Williams

Taskmaster? Now we're watching gameshows? What next, Would I lie to you? We haven't got anywhere near through the list of great comedy shows yet. And where have all these Taskmaster people suddenly sprung from, it was only added in this poll. I think you guys are taking advantage of Josh's lack of British TV knowledge.

Alexander Bond

I reckon series 2 or 3 for taskmaster because of the characters. Series 2 - Joe Wilkinson and that famous task. Series 3 - Paul Chowdhry is just funny all the way through

Andrew Cardinal

Happy to see Taskmaster getting the votes! Everyone on my socials tends to view series 7 as the best, which I agree with, will be interesting to see if that's reflected here.

Podey Williams

Easy solution... start with the best series, series 7. ;) I think it would be a waste if he started with one of the shorter series if we're only getting one of them for now.

Podey Williams

Unbelievable, waited too long for league of gentlemen, it came 2nd last time, now boring task master Is beating it, I can't win 😢

Dean Macgregor

For those asking Josh to react to all taskmaster episodes if it wins, it would work out at 95 episodes which would make it a ‘long’ show. Unless a ‘short’ show takes over on a ‘long’ show when that ends?

Lee

I think taskmaster should be split into two sections of series, as its quite a repetitive show. I think I'm seeing 9 seasons? Could do first 4 then add it to the poll for the last 5?

YaDadsDyek

Yes if taskmaster wins just go in order , i think the early ones are the best! start from series 1

Andrew Cardinal

Just watch Taskmaster from Series 1

Spooony

Has phone shop never been on the list? Phone shop is better than all of these options.

Mick Mills

For example in series 2 of Taskmaster the winner of series 1 is spoiled. Series 9 spoils the winner of season 7 and 2 There is more examples I just can't think off the top of my head Please just go in order if it wins 🙏

Michael Harrop

If taskmaster wins it should 100% be series one. Yes there are better series but it just makes so much more sense to go in order, even if it's over months and several polls

Michael Harrop

No need to vote for that, we're all getting it anyway!

Manly Stump

Is comedy the most subjective artform? I don't know that many cinephiles who list The Godfather, Heat...and Now You See Me 2 as the greatest films they've ever seen, or music lovers who have their top three albums as Pet Sounds, Sign O' The Times...and Now That's What I Call Music 28. But the shows some people rave about here sometimes catch me unawares - 'okay, yes that's great, that's great too, some great shows here I agree with you...wait, Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em??' ;)

Saul

I tend to agree about Bean, when it was first shown I was a teen and I thought it was hilarious but I think the humour might be a bit too broad for me as a man in his mid-40s. Though I really like Taskmaster and think it would end up being a good show for Josh to react to.

Christopher Horner

I'm sure Detectorists was on a poll ages ago. If it's "under the radar" as you say then it's obviously not going to get the votes.

Manly Stump

Fingers crossed for league of gentlemen and toast of London.

Ferris Booyaa

Life's too short, Mighty Boosh, knowing me knowing you, Spaced and this is England being outvoted by Bean and Taskmaster? I'll stick around for good but these Patrons are weird lol

Contex - It's Just A Ride

I felt certain that once G&S was finally off the list, LoG would win for sure, but it's being pushed down already by some pretty weak stuff.

SP

Hoping for League of Gentlemen *this* time (fingers crossed!). How Mr Bean has so many votes I have no clue - but to each their own :)

Joe Gardiner

Hello Ladies is an American show so not sure it qualifies.

Louis Hessey-Antell

I was pretty confused seeing this comment...didn't remember leaving it, and I've never seen Young Ones! Turns out we've got the same name and profile pic lol

Ben

Just noticed Nighty night on the list. Genius that is. As are most things Julia Davis is involved with. And people are voting for Mr Bean... Jesus... Off the top of my head, shows that aren't on the list and should be, Detectorists, Gone Fishing with Whitehouse and Mortimer, Shooting Stars, Hellol Ladies, Bored to Death, Auf Wiedersehen Pet, Travel Man ( if youre doing taskmaster etc)

Chris

If Spaced isn't picked soon then he needs to take an executive decision and just watch it. You can't watch Shaun of The Dead and Hot Fuzz and not watch the series that ensured they were made. Some utter dross on this list. Royal Family would be a good Spaced substitute as would taskmaster. You'd need to watch that from the start I reckon. The Thick Of It would be great as well but that's very Brit centric and on top of that you'd need to know about British politics in the early part of this century to really get it. Porridge is up there with Spaced as an all time classic. You need to get Detectorists on the poll too. An absolute, under the radar modern classic.

Chris

It's essentially the same joke. Awful.

Chris

Royle family is one of the best of all time, the characters are so out there yet so realistic at the same time. Also thick of it is magic surprised it’s not more popular

James Waters

Rock and chips was great! I forgot all about that brilliant series!

Claire Prowse

Not that well known sadly :(

Lee

I'd agree with you re: TIE '86, '88, '90. You'd go a long way to see better acting anywhere than in those three series. I had the privilege of speaking to Vicky McClure a couple of years ago, and it was surprising how much freedom the characters were given with the script. I don't want to say what scenes were mentioned, but it proved the acting was top rate.

Richie B

I'm surprised Some Mothers Do Av Em hasn't more votes. The first two series of that was pure gold.

Richie B

Its kinda disappointing that TM was not added to the long show list, I think it stood a good chance! Still great to see it on a poll, and doing so well. BUT, I am still voting for the young ones as nothing beats seeing josh cry as ade and rick beat the snot out of each other.

Raindog

Can I vote to watch that NEXUS person from the comments having a breakdown instead please

Leo Collinge

Spaced is legendary

Stian Lundgren

does rab c Nesbitt have subtitles?!! 10 minutes in my south african wife asked "what language is this?"

Andrew Sanderson

💯

mwdoom

Come on Mr Bean! It's so long over due and one of the most iconic British shows in history

Danny

Life’s too short needs it’s time!!!

Louis Hessey-Antell

Surely it's time for the League of Gentlemen? :) there are a few things on here I'd be happy with though, especially Taskmaster, Porridge and This is England. And I hope we get The Young Ones one day, it would be interesting to see what Josh makes of it.

BelladonnicHazeyJaneII

I think League of Gentlemen is some of the best comedy on that list. Also Young Ones would be great to see again

Ben

great reactions bud love the only fools and horses ones 👍

Stuart Williamson

Should try My Family that’s decent also favourite Scottish comedy Still Game also Rab C Nesbitt

Stuart Williamson

League of Gentlemen is the kind of 'goofy' humour Josh would enjoy. Love The Thick Of It but im not sure how well it would travel culturally outwith the UK. Really hope at some stage Josh becomes aware of the Only Fools and Horses prequel 'Rock and Chips' cuz I always enjoyed it and loved seeing all the characters' back stories.

Craig

The League of Gentlemen is my top pick of this list. This Country is also excellent. I love The Royle Family but not sure how "reactable" it is: not many belly laughs, subtler humour than The Office I'd say, and virtually no plot but an excellent show all the same. Black Books would be right up Josh's street. Very funny, and some episodes co-written by Graham Linehan of Father Ted and The IT Crowd fame. Love the trio of Moran, Bailey and Grieg. And of course, This is England '86 (and '88 and '90 for that matter): exemplary television, even better than the film, but it all depends whether Josh wants a comedy or a drama reaction. I'm happy either way, there are some funny moments and it's a deeply rewarding experience, but it's also an intense ride! Whether it wins a poll here or not, I'd implore Josh (and everyone for that matter) to see it.

Ash Jeffries

I'm holding out on League of Gentlemen, Spaced, Car Share and Dark Place, but there's some other really great choices on this list. Not sure why there's always comments suggesting otherwise.

Jay

There's loads of great stuff on this list. Don't be such a drama queen!

Jay

What does League of Gentlemen have to do to win?

Sam Reeves

Taskmaster is brilliant. It's genuinely funny without a script. If it wins I'd recommend watching from season 2

BazMan01

Come on league of gentlemen

Whitts collection

Let's have Josh react to Mr bean this time guys we all know he will love it 😂😂

Stu 79

We are scraping the barrel now for anything worth watching that's, remotely entertaining or funny. Once only fools has finished its all over.

NEXUS

Hoping for car share or Mr Bean

TwingoDriver

Though am doubtful, would be really nice to see This Country pull through on this poll. Such a hilarious British show.

Sam

This is England, Mr Bean or Royle family for me.

will doyle

vote the mighty boosh please people :D

arny

I hope Darkplace wins one day, I think Josh would love it

Samuel Coghlan-White

Surely either The League of Gentlemen or The Royle Family gets picked next. Probably both within the next few.

Joel Oates

Come on This is England, carries on brilliantly from the film
