Such a funny movie. Lots of people will recommend great Steve Martin movies and the only one ill add is Bowfinger. It's really funny and has a similar type of 'old school' humour. Eddie Murphy co stars and is very funny too. One of his best movies. Lots of really good performances.

LOL

I`d posted that before I`d got to the part where you recognised him, DOH! haha

Andy Farmer

Thanks bud!

I can`t see anyone commenting about this but if they have then sorry lol but the guy playing Arthur the butler guy also plays Chancellor Palpatine/The Emperor in the Star Wars prequels and the Rise of Skywalker. Ian McDiarmid

Awesome bud happy you enjoyed. This was a great movie I loved it!

Thanks bud!

The Jerk is another good movie i think

Carl-Fredrik L

Great movie. great reaction. SPOILER: i thought in the end, that the Jackal got her revenge on Freddie for being a bastard by making him a mute - like she figured out he was only in it for himself no matter what. At least Michael Kane gave her the money so he got to be the Australian millionarie or whatever!

Carl-Fredrik L

Is one of my favourite Steve Martin movies along with Planes, Trains and Automobiles and The Man with Two Brains.

Cherzo

Very true!

Yea I usually don't care for remakes now a days they don't do a good job.

After Work Reactions

That is awesome bud thank you for the info!

After Work Reactions

I have to check out more of his movies, I really enjoyed this one a whole lot.

Steve Martin started off in the circus, absolute comedy genius, I think one of the early Saturday Night Live crew and very talented outside of acting

Dave Barratt

That was absolutely awful, I didn't realise it was a remake when I started watching but turned off after about 10 minutes

Dave Barratt

Frank Oz, who directed this film, was the puppeteer and voice of Yoda.

(Just) Steve

Sleuth and Get Carter are two more classic Michael Caine movies. Jaws 4: The Revenge, not so much. lol Michael Caine on Jaws 4 - "I have never seen the film, but by all accounts it was terrible. However, I have seen the house that it built, and it is terrific."

(Just) Steve

Wow, where do I start with this... First of all, great reaction as always. It's one of my all time favourite comedies. With regards to Michael Caine, he's a total legend of cinema and a British Icon. You recognised him from Batman, but he's most famous for his movies from the 60's. I think you have The Italian Job (original) on your movie poll, which is one of his most iconic roles. His others are Zulu ,Alfie and Ipcress file which all fantastic (although maybe a little dated). With regards to Steve Martin, 'jay Big Bollocks' comment pretty much mentions Martin's best stuff. He was a comedy genius, and all the movies mentioned are worth a watch.

Jay

I thought I recognised the plot while watching this. They remade it a couple years back with Anne Hathaway as the big con artist and Rebel Wilson as the small time. Was okay. I must say Josh, I would never have watched some of these movies without these watch alongs. It makes lockdown less lonely. I look forward to the Sunday movies, whatever they are.

Michael Warwick

There is something inherently and universally funny about “odd couple” humor.

Super Mega Giga Chad

Absolutely classic gem of a film, everyone is excellent in this and superbly casted. The ending twist is brilliantly written and apt having the Jackal hoodwink them all.

NEXUS

Really enjoyed your review at the end josh especially when you see stuff I may not have spotted myself, yeah good review and reaction to a good film.

Andrew G

Glad you liked it so much. Would recommend Leap Of Faith and Bowfinger along with the above recommendations. Also The Lonely Guy, which I added to the poll. 🙂

Mr K

Some Steve Martin comedies I'd recommend are The Jerk, The Man With Two Brains, The Three Amigos, Planes Trains And Automobiles, Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid, All Of Me, L.A. Story, Roxanne but Pink Panther or Bilko is a hard pass

Sean Riley

Hey Josh did you know the guy who plays Arthur the butler in this also plays palatine in star wars 😊

Stu 79

One of my all time favourite films, Steve Martin is an absolute genius. Needless to say the modern female lead remake released last year (I think) is absolute dogshite in comparison despite being an almost scene for scene remake.
