Blackadder Season 4 Episode 2 Corporal Punishment

Comments

You might notice an actor who was in Bottom and Red Dwarf in this episode...Lee Cornes played the barman Dick Head in Bottom and was Paranoia in the first season of Red Dwarf, Confidence and Paranoia. He was one of the members of the firing squad, Private Fraser.

Happiest Aku

The shooting scene was hilarious man, I totally agree man this episode is great. Take care bud!

After Work Reactions

This episode of Blackadder is great and I have not seen it for so long. Just the shooting of the pigeon in the first place made me laugh again. Thanks dude.

Mick Mills

Great episode. I really think Thin Blue Line would be a great follow up to this series. Its one of my all time favourites.

Craig Broadley

It was a great episode!

After Work Reactions

Agreed bud, I know some people get really excited so I usually don't say too much about it but I have noticed alot of people getting upset about spoilers lately.

After Work Reactions

LOL true!

The naming of Tim McInnerny's character was pure genius, makes me laugh every time!

Keith Pratt

Haven't seen that in years. What a great episode. Every time I watch this episode I seem to forget exactly how it ends and how he gets out of it.

ArtVandalHey!

This is a really good episode. I love when Baldrick shows up with all the rubbish things whilst he's in jail. The way Blackadder says Robin Hood cracks me up for some reason

Danny

Really looking forward to the next 4 episodes, just really great episodes back to back. All the series have their own charm but season 4 is definitely the one with most great episodes I'd say

Danny

In Australia is means handsome man, i.e. "He's a spunk"...I used to laugh when they used the phrase in Neighbours as a kid

Steve King

Im also pretty sure you will love season 1, its just not the best one to start on, you should definitely watch it, you will like it a lot more after watching season 2,3,4

Mike Doel

Yeah spunk is an old fashioned term for courage not really used now, obviously the joke is in the double meaning, there is a lot of that in Blackadder. The rest of the episodes are equally diverse and funny :)

Mike Doel

I like the idea of doing Season 1 off-schedule then uploading it when you get time. But don't forget the "Back and Forth" special which I do think should round off the series in this timeslot

Steve King

Yh Oscar Wilde was one of the few openly gay men during the Victorian era, known for his plays, novels etc...

Michael-James Willcox

Americans still use the word spunk to mean bravery or determination. Josh only went "Urgh" because he's been watching too much British TV 😂😂😂

Steve Small

Spunk meant courage and determination originally, we've just twisted it sexually like we do with so many words. When I was a kid people were often referred to as spunky.

Richard Carter

He's also a hero of Stephen Fry's and Fry even played Wilde in a biopic.

Manly Stump

Hey Josh, Oscar Wilde was a gay writer who was imprisoned for sodomy. Blackadder was making out he was the straightest man alive with ton upon ton of proof to show how straight he was, but the barrister in question was so good he was able to have him imprisoned for being gay. The word in question (whoopsie, or something similar) isn't really used in British slang, but was just silly enough to allow people to know what was meant by it and sound hilarious at the same time.

Steve Small

I need to go back and rewatch Jeeves and Wooster, George isn’t too different from Bertie Wooster character-wise, although Jeeves certainly isn’t Melchett

Kieran B

I'm glad my comment on spoilers was noticed. It's just better for people to be safe and not toe the line with this kind of thing.

damage3245

I know this isn’t related but I think you’d react great to the tv series Benidorm.

Gregg

Spot on with the spoilers, my rule is to just not refer to anything that you haven’t seen at all, no matter how much I’m looking forward to you seeing - or rather because I’m looking forward to you seeing it for the first time
