That is true, usually in movies/shows in general there are a lot of writers.

2021-03-01 11:11:31 +0000 UTCBrilliant film, and great reaction, as always! The subtitled slang scene reminded me of the subtitled cockney rhyming slang pub scene in Lock Stock. The scene with the bossy control officer standing in front of a picture of himself in the same stance was also used twice in the IT Crowd by Denholm and Douglas Renholm :D Oh, BTW... "The foot's on the other hand" is obviously just a whacky and incorrect way of saying, "The boot's on the other foot" - which means that the situation, in particular the holding of advantage, has reversed.

The makers of Airplane, Jim Abrahams, David Zucker and Jerry Zucker bought the rights to it for next to nothing, and used it as a template. If you liked this then you should also check out Hot Shots!, Hot Shots! Part Deux, Loaded Weapon 1, Police Squad (six episode TV show) and then The Naked Gun, The Naked Gun 2 1/2, Naked Gun 33 1/3 which are films based on Police Squad.

2021-03-01 00:02:13 +0000 UTCThe airport conductor that keeps drinking and sniffing glue is also in the two Hot Shots movies, same style of humour as this but making fun of Top Gun and Rambo. Lloyd Bridges is his name, the real life father to Jeff Bridges (Tron, Iron Man, Big Lebowski, Starman) Theirs a sequel to this too (literally called Airplane 2: The Sequel) - it's ok, problem is it recycles quite a lot of the jokes from the first, but if your a Star Trek fan you might be surprised who shows up.
