Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!    Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!!

It was weird watching Blackadder being a push over . I was like when is this man going to snap on these conning bastards lol. The Future was weird especially Baldrick's leather underwear and his weird stance lol. I looked him up and it was Robbie Coltrane the guy who plays Hagrid in Harry Potter. So Miriam , Robbie and Jim were all in Harry Potter that's cool , well to me it is lol. If you all don't know I love graphic T's and I found this one below. I prefer black so I will probably have to make my own . But this is a pretty cool , I thought it was really funny how Baldrick spelled Christmas so wrong and yet you still know what he was trying to say lol. Even if I never saw this episode and someone gave me a card during Christmas I could piece together what the person is trying to say. Who knows if people find this as funny as I do , it really cracked me up lol.

Thanks for watching folks !!! Hopefully, you all are happy, safe, and healthy !!

Blackadder's Christmas Carol

Comments

This episode had its own VHS release. Used to love watchin it around xmas time each year in the '90s.

Nell Sun

Awesome thanks for the info bud.

After Work Reactions

That is awesome man I may have to watch this again around Christmas this year.

After Work Reactions

Not sure anyone has mentioned but Miranda Richardson who plays Queenie was also in Harry Potter. She played Rita Skeeter in Goblet of Fire

Chris Wood

This is a regular watch for me every Christmas but I held iff last year in anticipation of this. May the yuletide log slip from your fire and burn your house down, I still use that one every year!

Dave Barratt

Nice one again josh haven’t seen this for years 👍

ChrisW

Thanks bud!

After Work Reactions

Thanks bud!

After Work Reactions

If that's true I can't see it being anything to do with religion the UK aren't touchy about that subject if that was the case you would have to cut the whole of life of Brian lol

There should have been a line from Baldrick after he said the kids liked the the dog playing Jesus. They wanted him to do a play at Easter because “They want to see us nail up the dog”. It gets cut out every time this episode’s shown on TV, too. Not sure if because ofit’s a Crucifixion joke or the animal cruelty.

Graeme D

Please watch all of season 4 first , as each episode is so funny but you may want some tissues for the last ep ! Can't wait!

Matthew

Me too man. Miranda Richardson was fine. Has aged very well, too.

Ian Webster

Yeah I'd save the Cavalier Years until after season 4.

William Jewell

LOL thanks man!

After Work Reactions

Agreed I would like to see him again he is awesome.

After Work Reactions

Awesome bud. I am looking forward to it I have been hearing it is one of the best seasons. I have the movie on my list bud so I will check it out =]

After Work Reactions

Elasticity was not available at that time, so finding snug undergarments would have been problematic. I'm not saying the rumour is true, but it is a fun urban legend regardless. And the fact that Victoria was never able to fully recover after Albert's death, adds fuel to the flame lol.

Rob Thompson

Given how incredibly uptight Albert was known to be, I seriously doubt it's true; if he was 'over endowed' likely he would have just worn snug, restrictive undergarments, as he was known to enjoy designing clothing. It's a fun story nonetheless.

ALW

I agree, Blackadder Back and Forth is worth watching after series 4. It has its fun moments. I enjoy The Cavalier Years too, but its very short so for me I think watching both specials together on maybe a Sunday or something?

ALW

This is not a proven historic fact Josh, but a persistent rumour (which has neither been proven nor disproven). Prince Albert (played by Jim Broadbent in this episode), the German husband/consort of Queen Victoria is supposed to be the inspiration for the penis piercing (cock ring) known today as the 'Prince Albert'. Apparently, Albert was a very big lad in the trouser department, and the tight trousers/pants of the day caused some embarrassment in social gatherings. And so the piercing was used to tie his penis in an upward position, rather than allow it to dangle noticeably down one of his legs lol.

Rob Thompson

I'd say the one to watch after season 4 was the movie they did Blackadder Back & Fourth. Haven't seen it since I was a kid but I'd love to watch it again with your reaction lol

Magnet Hand

Looking forward to Season 4...my opinion is it’s the best by far! But I’d also say the Back & Forth special is worth doing. Season 1 I wouldn’t watch, it’s very different....but again just my opinion, some people love it.

Ben Marshall

Josh shouldn't watch it, because it is not funny at all and has a completely different vibe to the later series. This is why he had so many recommendations to skip the series. The best thing about it is Brian Blessed, but even his booming (over-the-top) theatrics can't save it.

Rob Thompson

He also has an Academy Award and Golden Globe under his belt. I've mentioned it before, but I'd love Josh to react to, A Sense of History, via his YouTube channel, and not necessarily through Patreon. It's a short film written by and staring Jim Broadbent, and directed by Mike Leigh. It's very dark and extremely funny and (in my opinion) the best thing Jim has done. I've included the YouTube link for it bellow. If you have the time to check it out, Josh, that would be cool? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPtaw2QwBeQ

Rob Thompson

Another shout here for the 'Back and Forth' special (last of course being the very last episode), it has a Sci-Fi feel so right up your alley

Steve King

I love how they reprised the roles of the characters from series 2 and 3 after they were finished, would've been easy to do a glorified clip show but they went the extra mile! Back and Forth is great, but you should watch it as an epilogue to the series as a whole.

David Lyons

In my opinion you should watch season 1 as well. It's a bit different from 2 to 4, but still very good. I don't know why people say you shouldn't. It may start a bit slow, but really improves. The dynamic is a bit different with Baldrick being the clever one, and Black Adder being stupid, but Percy is the same. Rik Mayall has a great cameo, same with Miriam Margoyles and the king played by Brian Blessed is fantastic.

Tobias Eiken

And Slater in Only Fools and Horses.

Thomas McDonald

Season 2 is my fave, I dunno why but the Queen does it for me....

You're right about that being the actor for Hagrid, you were also right when you recognised Jim Broadbent as being in Harry Potter too, but you also would have seen him in Hot Fuzz as the police chief.

Ben

I think watching season 4 next would be right and then the Blackadder Back and Forth special afterwards then maybe season 1 after that to see how completely different it was to the whole rest of the show. Blackadder Cavalier Years isn't really worth it but you could watch it as a one off in the future.

Ed

Personally I wouldn't skip Blackadder The Cavalier Years (before season 4) since it's easy enough to find on YouTube and is funny as hell! Definitely wouldn't skip Blackadder Back and Forth after watching season 4!

James Shuker

spacing out the specials is fine, but Blackadder Back and Forth is pretty much the last proper episode and is definitely worth watching

SbE

I'd love to get into series 4 personally, it would be good to space out the specials a bit.

Michael-James Willcox

Definitely wouldn't skip Back and Forth, that is the "official" last episode of Blackadder. It's only the same run time as a normal episode to,so hardly a slog

Danny

I definitely hope you'll get around to watching Back and Forth - if for no other reason than to see more Rik Mayall!

Manly Stump

That's Jim Broadbent playing Albert...he plays Slater, the snide copper, in Only Fools..

Hannah

wait...why are people saying Blackadder back and forth isnt worth watching? like..i genuinely thought it was a great laugh and never in my life have i heard people saying 'don't watch it'

Jason

He WAS in Harry Potter... I love how you can recognise people instantly lol.. I would never have noticed.. He was Professor Slughorn 😂🤣 And yeah, the ghost was Hagrid too

Austin Stratton

You might remember the ghost “Robbie Coaltrain” from Dr Johnson’s dictionary, he also plays Hagrid in Harry Potter

Mike Doel

Agreed, I really like back and forth, Robbin hood is great

james

I think it’s worth watching Cavalier Years and even Back and Forth, but happy till wait till the end

Kieran B

Thanks for the upload Josh. I would say black adder back and forth is worth a watch but after series 4.

james

Was expecting Blackadder Goes Forth to begin today but a nice surprise to see you haven't forgotten one of the specials! Looking forward to watching this, even though I'm the type of person who would usually never watch a Christmas special when it isn't the season :P

Ben

Excellent, glad you were able to watch this. Robbie Coltrane was Doctor Johnson with the dictionary in season 3 as well. And Jim Broadbent was Slater in Only Fools and Horses and Police Inspector Frank Butterworth in Hot Fuzz as well as being in Harry Potter
