Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!    Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!!

It was cool to see Rimmer and Lister marooned together and still getting to know each other while annoying the shit out of each other lol. I wonder if Lister would have survived if Rimmer wasn't there to make him ration his food.  I found a post talking about the page that was ripped out on reddit. I put a screen shot and a link to the post below for those who were curious as well. This was a really great episode . I covered most of what I wanted to say at the end .

In case some of you didn't know what I was referring to when I mentioned 256 colors at the end of the video . Here's an example 256 color portrait .

Thanks for watching folks !!! Hopefully, you all are happy, safe, and healthy !!

Red Dwarf: Season 3 Episode 2 Marooned

Comments

Thanks bud I totally agree they did a great job with the set and writing on this episode!

After Work Reactions

This is probably my favourite episode of Red Dwarf. The episodes full of crazy set pieces are great, but I personally love when the show focuses on character-driven writing.

I'm currently reading Lolita so I get the joke now. In my copy it's between page 60 and 61 but... wow it's a strange read. Beautifully written, I mean, it's a masterpiece of fiction, but my god what a disturbing subject. Yeah though, that passage is incredibly filthy.

Ian Webster

Yet if it was the 15th Wednesday after Pentecost nobody would have batted an eyelid, sad times!

Chris H

Great review at the end Josh. Not sure if you just remembered everything or took notes throughout but I really enjoyed you talking through the episode again at the end. Nice work!

Alex

It's because you're a pathetic troll Tony. We get you're not a fan. I don't get why you have to keep coming back to post stupid comments moaning about the show. I mean you seriously want to bring people's family into it as well. Really? Did you ever get past puberty?

Christopher Horner

Tony Smyth

I don't understand what he gets out of it. When he gets a response he'll act like a victim and thinks he gets grief because he has a different opinion and not because he's a pathetic troll. I understand people will find some shows not to their liking but they voice their opinion and then move on. Tony however just keeps going on and on about it and actually thinks his comments are clever or witty.

Christopher Horner

Hey Josh, I think you should seriously consider banning/ removing Tony Smyth from your community. He is cancer in an otherwise great community. He looks to troll, harass and insult where ever he can. Thanks

james

Maybe one day you'll make a NEW comment that hasn't been strangled to death 100 times.

I love that Shrove Tuesday was mentioned since it's Shrove Tuesday today.

Lewis Burridge

While this isn't one of my favourite episodes, it is still a really good episode and helps develop both Rimmer and Lister as characters. Next episode though...is one of my favourite episodes ever.

Happiest Aku

They would be good to react too.

Happiest Aku

I love the model shots of star bug this series. It’s a great little ship

james

One of my Fav eps

mwdoom

Have you seen the Wallace and Gromit short films? If not, they might make for good reaction material. A huge part of British culture! I can’t see why you wouldn’t like it.

Joe Jerome

This is one of my favourites episodes. It's similar to the first season/s in the sense it focused mostly on the relationship between Rimmer and Lister but it is so well written and hilarious whilst doing a lot of character building.

Matthew Seaward

apparently for the dog food it was a mixture of Tuna and Meat Jelly... think i'd prefer real dog food myself...

Adam C Turek

12 years old bit is a bit weird, but I guess it's a reference to Lolita as the girl in it is 12. It's a joke that wouldn't be on TV today I'm gonna guess as it's.... That said three girls at my school had kids at 14.

The next episode is one of the best of the whole show it's a classic

Stu 79

Love this episode, such good characterisation, but the next one is great as well.

Mark Carr

This is a very strong episode, with some great writing, and has to be my second favourite episode of series 3. Next weeks episode, however, is (in my opinion) the best of the series, and one of the best ever Red dwarf episodes. Can't wait!

Rob Thompson

Yeah it was either Lolita or Lady Chatterly's Lover, they were the "dirty" books in the minds of the public at the time.

Richard Carter

The Lolita jokes a bit weird considering the context of that book but don't take it to literally.

And today’s Shrove Tuesday...

Kieran B

Same here, not the Chris Barrie bit, but I did meet him at the Red Dwarf Fan Club convention in 2000. That’s superb though, it’s a proper actor’s episode definitely.

Kieran B

It's a very simple episode but its quite possibly my favourite of the entire run. I met Chris Barrie at Comic Con in London and talked about how much i love the episode, was thrilled when he said it's one of his favourite scripts hes ever read, and that he was excited to do it because it 'felt like a play, like a Red Dwarf version of Waiting for Godot'.

Michael Harrop

Have been looking forward to this, one of my favourites. Coincidentally, yesterday was the 33rd anniversary of Red Dwarf’s first episode
