Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!    Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!!

This was a really good episode. It started off a bit slow and really picked up once they entered the game. When Lister and Cat climbed on the motorcycle and gave Rimmer the finger that cracked me up. Just a man and his cat on a motorcycle flicking people off riding off into the sunset lol. When Rimmer fantasized about a car and it was a three-wheel van that was great. He has such a hard time loosening up even in a fantasy game it's great.   I love how confident Cat was when it came to playing golf. When he said you don't think I know how to play this game then proceeds to play it his own way is such a cat thing lol. They do what they want when they want how they want. I love how Rimmer's negative mind bled over and screwed up everyone's fantasy. I was wondering what reason they would need to leave the game. Otherwise, why do anything else on a lonely space ship beside live out your fantasies in a realistic game.

Thanks for watching folks !!! Hopefully, you all are happy, safe, and healthy !!

As always I would love to read your comments below

Josh you are gonna love the upcoming series' of Red Dwarf.. the stories all start veering towards time travel, video games.. all the stuff you like.. really exploring the fact that this is a sci=fi show and literally anything can happen.. it's like the writers finally realised :D

Austin Stratton

That is awesome about them making more specials. This show is great so it is awesome that they are continuing it.

After Work Reactions

Awesome thanks bud!

After Work Reactions

Yea I was excited to see them off the ship, that was pretty cool. Thanks bud!

After Work Reactions

Thanks bud, I have had a few people tell me about the books but I did not know they were on Spotify that makes it way easier for me to listen to, especially on the drive home from work. Take care bud!

After Work Reactions

Josh, I never knew there was audio books for red dwarf. They're on Spotify and I have just listened to the first couple of parts on the way to work. Very entertaining. Definitely worth reacting to on YouTube. The first part called taxi hopper is about 6-7 mins long and doesn't spoil anything about the show so worth listening to. Hope you add it to your to do list 😁

Alex

Good episode, nice they finally got off the ship, if only virtually. Wonder if Better Than Life was the inspiration for the game Real Life ? You’re right about the Van Josh, it was a 3 wheel Reliant Robin Van, same as on only fools and horses.

Gary Tamblyn

I do really enjoy this episode - but to me, this is one of the episodes that is let down by the budget. You can fool me that the beach is paradise! It looks so cold lol. Also, I'm not sure if you're aware but Craig Charles (Lister) said last weekend that they are working on some new 90 minute specials (one was meant to be released this year but was delayed due to covid). 33 years later and there's still life in RD! :)

Matthew Seaward

You are correct that is lister in the space suit painting RD. If you look close you can see him pushing his face out so the camera would see him.

james

Thanks bud I will for sure have to check out the books as well once I get a bit further in the show.

After Work Reactions

I agree man I think this season is much better so far than the last. I am starting to enjoy the characters much more.

After Work Reactions

Oh man I bet that really stinks when it is super cold =/

After Work Reactions

Awesome bud, it is really starting to get good I am enjoying it alot =]

After Work Reactions

Thank you, this was a great episode I enjoyed it alot =]

After Work Reactions

Thanks man I will for sure have to order the books and check them out. I'll wait until I am a bit further but I do like sci fi books as well. Take care!

After Work Reactions

The books are worth reading (or rather listening too, Chris Barrie who plays Rimmer reads them - he was an impressionist before this in the original Spitting Image and he does a great job of the voices). It goes into more detail about the game along the lines you were thinking - but of course I don’t want to give any spoilers

Kieran B

So glad you found this one funny I love this episode 😁

martyn dodds

I think this episode is where Red Dwarf really starts. Season one is underrated but slow, and episode one of this season has that terrible Kryten, so this is the point at which it starts becoming the show it's famous for being. It gets confident in itself, in the characters and their traits.

Saul

Apparently a lot of the outdoor scenes weren't too fun to film as it was freezing cold, also Craig Charles (Lister) had trouble hitting the golf ball for many takes even though he said he could play, its all in the outtakes (smeg ups). Also notice they revealed Rimmers middle name in Arnold J. Rimmer as "Judas"

Adam C Turek

Best episode so far. You can feel it getting real now. This is where Red Dwarf finds it's zone. I'm glad we went through season 1 though...I think it was needed.

Hannah

Really like this one, more back story for Rimmer, definitely the type of episodes I preferred more on the show. As for why you'd leave the game. They go into it more in the book/audiobook.

Mr K

love the books so much, so funny and they really showcase the universe that Rob and Doug came up with

Lawrence Reynolds

You should read the Red Dwarf books if you have time. They're really funny and make for really easy reading because of the writing style. Better Than Life might be my favourite.
