Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!    Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!!

This was a really good episode it was very silly lol. The old lady with the dog and the old lady who screamed murder were fantastically annoying. They added so much more stress to an already stressful situation it was great. The major was so nonchalant about the entire situation that was great. The doctor was more worried about his sausage, he could care less about the dead body. Get rid of that corpse and make me some sausage lol. This ending was just as good as the last, him leaving Sybil to deal with everyone was hilarious. You have to hand it to Sybil she was still trying to make money off the dead guy by writing his bill. I have said this before she is a bit of a nag but the hotel would probably shut down if it wasn't for her.

Thanks for watching folks !!! Hopefully, you all are happy, safe, and healthy !!

As always I would love to read your comments below

Fawlty Towers Season 2 Episode 4 The Kipper and the Corpse

Comments

The redhead who was with the old man played Julie the barmaid in Only Fools & Horses for 5 episodes in series 2 and 3.

Keith Pratt

Pw is wrong but 1 worked, makes no sense but I'm accustomed to the madness now xD

Caine

Would need a bit of prep work for some episodes, to explain who Bruce Forsyth and Bob Monkhouse were, otherwise a brilliant series. Matt Berry is supposed to be doing a 3rd season with Toast in the US apparently.

Gary Tamblyn

Yeah she was a bit annoying but as you say, she was locked in a cupboard with a dead body AND hit in the face by Polly and knocked out 😂 I think she had a fair reason for wanting to complain whenever she felt like it lol.

BelladonnicHazeyJaneII

Understand you taking issue with the old lady’s behavior but come on dude - they locked her in a cupboard with a corpse !!!

Other people are making recommendations, so why shouldn't I? ...Toast Of London, featuring Matt Berry from the IT Crowd, and Ray F***ing Purchase.

This ep. - the psychiatrists - a touch a class - communication problems.- are some of the best comedy writing ever. Love your reactions ! Keep up the good work.

Super Mega Giga Chad

LOL this episode is what the last one was trying to do thanks for the real reactions Josh

Leeroy Nabowitz

I never noticed Sybil was gossiping about the guests on the phone, and I would've missed it again if you hadn't mentioned it, good catch!

David Lyons

“Another one Fawlty?” “No, same one” 😂

Zoë

“Oh spiffing” 🤣🤣🤣

Im certain this is true. Harris was the single guest with the blow up doll. There was a tv (?) critic with that name as far as I remember, and he gave the show or characters a bad review... so they wrote in a Harris who needed a blow up doll for sex as a small revenge. EDIT - Maybe it was Mr Andrews (the guest who arrived near the end). He may have been the one with the doll. And the critic was called Andrews.

Ryan Lynch

This episode is so hectic lol. So much going on if you blink you'll miss something. Can't believe you've nearly finished FT. I am looking forward to movie Sundays though tbh :)

Great reaction Josh! The Hotel Inspectors is my favourite Fawlty Towers episode of all but I think The Kipper and the Corpse is definitely a very close second for me. Just masterful comedy, maximum chaos, some brilliant dialogue, and the wonderful and sadly recently passed Geoffrey Palmer (1927-2020) as the doctor is the icing on the cake. The bit where Basil loses it in Mr Leeman's room when questioned about not noticing that Leeman had died cracks me up. "I mean, it does say "HOTEL" outside doesn't it?! Perhaps I should be more specific? "HOTEL FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE A GREATER THAN 50 PER CENT CHANCE OF MAKING IT THROUGH THE NIGHT"!!!" :D Manuel finally cracking is a highlight too. It suddenly dawns on him that he has the worst job in the world and perhaps what he's experiencing isn't normal or acceptable. Haha! :-) Only 2 more to go! I personally don't feel the next episode (The Anniversary) is up to the higher standards of the other 11, but I know some really like it so it's all subjective. Ep 12, Basil the Rat, is a solid way to finish though! I'm sure you'll enjoy it! :-)

You can tell they took around 6 weeks to write each episode, the way they cram so much in. I’m not sure there have been very many farce style comedies on TV in the UK since this. I guess the most recent would be the ‘goes wrong show’ from a couple of years ago, which is very clever, and sort of funny, but nowhere near as good as FT.

Gary Tamblyn

One of my favourite episodes, been waiting for this one. 🙂

Mr K

Very good comic actor, although he always seemed to play each character exactly the same 😃. He was also in the 1970s comedy ‘Butterflies’, with a much younger Nicholas Lyndhurst (Rodney). Can’t remember how good that was though, probably a bit dated and not worth reacting to.

Gary Tamblyn

"You can't keep a dead body in here where there's food!" "Can't we?" One of the best sitcom episodes ever in my opinion.

Jonny Mullins

Always takes everything in his stride!

Jonny Mullins

It was the majors input in this episode that always made me giggle! "Shot was he?" 🤣

Claire Prowse

Geoffrey Palmer (God rest his soul) has been in many things, including starring in his own sitcom with Dame Judy Dench, and yet whenever he was seen in the street, they all just wanted to hear him say 'I'm a doctor and I want my sausages'.

Daniel Davies

I just realised you've never reacted to Derren Brown... Please oh God please check him out...

Nick
