Granddads' face, when the cop was telling them about the escaped psychopath, was priceless lol. I love how Del will risk his life for the hustle. He knew there was a psychopath on the loose and he still wanted to fish. When he found out he was in the room with a psychopath who loves to lose he tries to hustle him out of money lmao. This was a unique fun and funny episode, I thought it was great. I just didn't expect it to end on the pool game. This episode seemed to fly by so fast.

2020-10-23 20:34:45 +0000 UTCThis isn't one of the more highly rated Series 3 episodes but I have always really enjoyed it. It definitely has a different vibe but there are some very funny moments. Love the scene where Rodney loses his temper over the Monopoly and then sees the man in the window. Some classic Granddad in this ep too. I like that final scene but I do think the episode ends rather abruptly all the same.

It was first broadcast in 1983, which is around when slasher films (which I love) hit their zenith. That said, it's the first time John Sullivan really experimented with the format, moving it away from the usual Trotters-trying-to-become-millionaires dynamic and setting it largely in an unfamiliar place. There are much better examples of that later on. Btw, can't comment without leaving my customary plug for One Foot in the Grave. It's had a lot of attention in the comments in the last day, and I hope that shows you how many of us (minus one) would love to see it on your next poll!
