Spoiler Free: Excellent start to Season 3, this was a very fun wacky episode and I really enjoyed it a lot. While watching this episode it made me think about how much I would love a cross-over shirt with Eddie and Father ted. Though they differ in a lot of ways they are both lovable, hilarious alcoholics. Honestly, I would toss Jim Lahey from trailer park boys and Bender from Futurama on there too lol. I know it sounds cluttered but I love me some hilarious alcoholics.

I looked up The Cup tie chaos looks like it has to do with soccer. I didn't think sports when I saw the paper forgot about the world cup lol. I know there are other cups too but I don't follow sports enough. This was a really fun episode, I always love how annoying Richie and how calm Eddie is in most cases. When Eddie called Richie overweight and Richie said how dare you to call me overweight and the seat broke I died lmao. Also when Eddie went on a cursing frenzy that was fantastic. After watching this show for two seasons and seeing all the crazy things unfold I was still unprepared for the hand of God part lmao. Felt like something that would happen in Monty Python. Overall a fantastic episode and a great start to Season 3.

Blackadder, Fawlty Towers, League of Gentlemen, full episodes of Shooting Stars, 8 out of 10 cats, Taskmaster, Would I Lie To You, Red Dwarf, The Young Ones, the first 3 series of Absolutely Fabulous were good. There are some great clips of QI too. Not to mention the few live Bottom shows which I hope you'll do when you've finished the series ☺

2020-09-20 19:00:23 +0000 UTCThe closest thing Rik n Ade did to Bottom is surely The Dangerous Brothers, no? It's Bottom without any storyline, but with extra explosions. Unfortunately it's feature-length, but it could be chopped up into segments because it's a collection of sketches.

The bleeped out bits where Eddie swears is ‘You fucking well hit the clit right on the nail there, you cunting bastard. If you’re looking for more Bottom like shows then Filthy, Rich and Catflap would be your best bet, the closest thing to Bottom, but there’s also The Young Ones, which is a classic. I love those shows and these reactions!

But if you want a series of 30 min episodes then try Filthy Rich and Catflap - it was made 4 years before Bottom and stars Ade and Rik as a different-but-not "Eddie and Richie" - the closest thing you'll get to Bottom. You'll see a lot of what influenced Bottom in it!
