Spoiler Free: This movie was random, goofy, slapstick, and hilarious. I felt the same way about the Holy Grail. I know people will ask me which one I like more and that's a hard choice. I will make a lot of enemies today lol but I will go with Life of Brian. If Life of Brian was a 10 The Holy Grail would be a 9.90 if you know what I mean. They really aren't that far off from each other in regards to story and comedy quality.

There's so much to unpack when it comes to this movie. I didn't take the time to write a proper review for The Holy Grail I apologize in advance for that lol. Let's talk about the space ship scene first WTF was that lmao. That was so pointless and I loved it because it was pointless. The transgender conversation was fantastic and I loved how they wrapped back around to it with the statement "a little ego trip from the feminist " Her saying "what " and him apologizing for the statement showing though they disagreed in the beginning that he now accepts her identifying as a woman. Out of curiosity, I looked it up to see if that's what others got out of the scene nope lol. There are people upset about it so maybe the way interpreted the bit is wrong. I still enjoyed it either way. Just seemed as though the message was I don't have to understand your decision in order to respect you and accept it. The guy playing the mom made the worst looking woman, I loved it. I love how fast Brian accidentally started a religion and with minutes they were already arguing about the interpretation. Of course, it should go without saying the Biggus Dickus and the Stoning scenes are amongst my favorites. There really is too much to unpack with this movie so to prevent me from typing 30 pages lets just say I really enjoyed this movie and it has a lot of rewatch value. Hell, I laughed harder the second time watching the Biggus Dickus knowing the soldiers were trying to hold their laugh in for real. Well, at least that's what I was told in the comments lol. Hell, I was trying to hold my laugh to prevent a laughing fit ending in a headache lol and me missing the jokes from the next scene.

2020-09-10 01:00:19 +0000 UTCA nice piece of trivia I like about Life of Brian, is the production company that was originally about to finance the film backed out just a few days before filming was due to start. They was worried about the subject matter potentially being too controversial to make money. George Harrison , of The Beatles, heard about it and was a massive fan of Monty Python and ended up setting up a production company and funded the full movies budget of 4 million. So if it wasn't for him he may not have happened. The Python team even used old props and costumes that an Italian director left behind there whilst he made a series about Jesus, to save money

That's the sketch show that started off the whole Monty Python thing. It was on BBC2 in about 1969. My Dad used to come home from the pub to watch it when he was a young man. A lot of it really holds up but obviously it can be hit and miss. When it hits it's incredible though.
