Spoiler Free: This episode made me curious about the labor unions in the UK. What has your experience been like when you belonged to them ?? Here in the US, in my experience, the people who are in a union (with the exception of construction workers) wish they weren't. The ones who don't belong to a union wish they did. This is usually because they feel they could lose their job at any moment. They would feel safer knowing there was an objective third party looking out for their well being.

I love how Del messes with Rodney, by cock blocking him in the first scene. Scaring him at the bus storage yard and taking his girl out under the guise of looking out for him lol. Also, the grandfather acts like a dink most of the time. But he must have some common sense because he swindles Del out of 50 bucks lol.
Which kind of sucks because it shows the Grandfather doesn't have much trust in Del schemes. He was probably thinking this plan will fail so there's no reason we should all lose out. How can I make some money Aaah a bet I'll use Del confidence against him lol.
Wait I take back what I said the grandfather is still kind of a dink. Worst case scenario 1% of tourists would have been interested. That's assuming 1000 leaflets touch the hands of 1000 tourists. That's still $170 bucks even if they didn't sell any of those $5 souvenirs. Split 3 ways is $56 maybe I am overthinking this lol.
What do you all think of this episode, unions, security, my conjecture math lol, etc? I would love to read your thoughts below.

I took the ferry to Holyhead, the coach to the train station, the train to Victoria Station and then I got collected by a bloke on motorbike wearing a helmet who turned out to be me brother. I was in a trance listening to Kraftwerk at the time but Elephant & Castle rings a lot of bells in my head. The N53 is the funniest bus I was ever allowed onto. I used to get off on the Old Kent Road. Happy daze.

This is a very London-centric episode, literally as they try to show punters around the lesser known parts. I hope you understand enough to enjoy the episode. Only Fools just gets better and better

2020-07-24 19:38:33 +0000 UTCThere’s certainly far greater employment rights in the U.K. than the US, you can’t just lose your job any moment - especially for being in a Union. Personally I’ve only been part of an internal Union for one company. They were always helpful and arbitrated any disciplinarians or would give support if you needed it. It was a registered union but there were no fees and almost everybody in the company - at least in my part of it which was thousands of people, was a member.
