Love how Seral triggered Hemlock by trying to kill pups with a rock.

Have to say I LOVE the framing on Hemlock on the right. The light breaking through the trees really gave her wings

They had very different takeaways from the episode. One is still trying to grapple with how closely they came to being killed, and the other has just accepted that because the flying rabbit was much more interesting to think about

I originally thought it was the eye colors.

Maybe she can appreciate Rask and Egg more - seing that they do not kill just for killings sake.

ok, I have to ask because that was bothering me for a while. How do you know which wolf is male or female?

Probably a decent amount of time has passed between Seral’s demise and the parents arriving. Hemlock probably wouldn’t have spent the time collecting Seral’s tail if she sensed more wolves about to arrive, and I can’t imagine her doing it before going after the pups if that was her intent.

They already thought he was acting weird.
My guess is they figured it out when Seral turned back to them with his teeth bared

I have a question. The pups seemed to know and understand Serals intentions...but how? Did Swift tell them pup killing was a thing? Be casue when Seral first showed up, they seemed relieved. From the perspective of the pups, Seral turned around and went off to hunt rabbit, and was killed. He had only decided to act on killing the pups in his own mind when Hemlock killed him. So how would the pups interprept this as being saved when they didnt know?

This is a fun twist. Really looking forward to seeing how Hemlock evolves after this scene.

I wonder if Hemlock spared the pups only because she noticed Swift and Red’s approach and didn’t like her chances against two adult wolves without the element of surprise. She’s fearless, but not stupid.

The poor pup in the top left panel almost in tears, my heart.

Oh, sweet babies. It’s interesting how the dark pup is so caught up in the “flying rabbit” that it seems to have forgotten about Seral while the tan pup is stuck on realizing how close they were to being killed by someone they trusted. Hopefully the pups will keep surviving so we can see how this affects them in the long term

I love the clear personality differences between the pups, how green-eyes is more steady and amber-eyes is more shaken by what they’ve been through.

I wonder how Hemlock would react knowing that she now has two wolf pup fans who are convinced she can fly

I bet Hemlock noticed the pups saw her as their savior, which might've factored into her decision to spare them. Perhaps she saw in them what she was unwilling to see in Egg or Rask.

It's interesting that the pups see Hemlock as their saviour. The flying rabbit is a really accurate description of what had happened. I'm sure that up to this moment neither Swift, nor Red (and certainly not Seral!) would thought that a prey animal can attack from up above.

I love how the pups described hemlock just how I would imagine a child would! Like a guardian angel in a sense.
