[Tools] Weapon - Death Threads

To make some of the tools appear more harmless, I designed some that require a bit of assembly beforehand! These are the Death Threads - easy to sneak into any place and use effectively. For missions, they're excellent at catching escaping targets, from the Catcher's Cradle property to the minor version of the Web spell. Catcher's Cradle appears useful at first glance, but any character could just walk a little further and grapple.

These needles are most commonly used by master weavers on the Islands of Akano where the textile industry thrives. When attached to threads, they allegedly transform the needle into a similar rope and blade weapon used by the island's assassins. This rumor remains unverified as any evidence are indistinguishable from the conventional weapon.

Death Threads
Weapon (dart), rare (requires attunement by a character proficient with weaver's tools)

You can use this dart as weaver's tools for sewing and stitching. While attuned, you also double your proficiency bonus to ability checks made using weaver's tools. Creatures unaware of the needle's properties initially perceive it as a simple tool and can use an action to recognize its true purpose by succeeding on a DC 15 Intelligence (Arcana or Investigation) check.

Needle and Thread. You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. While attached to at least 15 feet of thread, the dart empowers the thread with magic. The dart gains the two-handed property and cannot hit targets more than 15 feet away, but you can pull it back into your hand immediately after the dart hits or misses. 

Catcher's Cradle. As an action, you can throw a threaded dart and attempt to snare a Medium or smaller target you can see up to 15 feet away. The target must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the target is snared and cannot move more than 15 feet from you. On your subsequent turns, you can use an a bonus action to deal 1d4 piercing damage to the target. You can also use an action to tighten or loosen the length of thread between 5 to 15 feet, changing the target’s restricted range of movement. The target escapes if it uses its action to repeat the save and succeeds or if you are no longer holding the thread with both hands.

Web Stitcher. While holding a threaded dart, you can use an action to cast a version of web from it (spell save DC 15). The spell only fills a 10-foot cube instead of a 20-foot cube, and lasts for 1 minute instead of 1 hour.
