[Infinity] Weapon - Axonomaly

This weapon's physical state never seems to settle no matter from which angle one looks at it. Newly promoted Chronoi Sentinels are often tasked with obtaining an anomalous weapon like this one, designed to grow in power as their rank increases. Those who wield this weapon usually require discretion and flexibility.

Axonomaly
Weapon (battleaxe and warhammer), uncommon (requires attunement)

This magic weapon is simultaneously a battleaxe and warhammer. Whenever you make an attack with this magic weapon, you decide which weapon you attack with. Whenever you hit a creature with this weapon, you deal a bonus 1d4 force damage to it. This bonus increases to 1d8 if the target is an aberration or an extratemporal being. 

Dimensional Upgrade. If this weapon is refined at a Dimensional Forge, its rarity increases by 1 tier and you gain access to one of the following properties of your choice, provided their requirements are met. The weapon can only have up to three of the following properties at one time, and the GM decides whether you can replace one property with another through reforging. You cannot choose the same property more than once unless otherwise indicated. 

• Dimensional Rift. The weapon gains a +1 bonus to its attack and damage rolls.  This property can be gained multiple times, which cumulatively increases this bonus by 1. Selecting this property again still counts towards the limit.  
• Illusory Perspective (Requires proficiency with Arcana or Perception). As a bonus action, you can magically rotate the weapon such that it appears to be a small harmless ornate rod. A creature can discern its true nature by succeeding on a DC 15 Intelligence (Investigation) check. You can use another bonus action to revert the rod to its original form.
• Snagging Edge (Requires Intelligence of 13 or higher). When you hit a creature with this weapon, you can choose to deal no damage and instead force it to make a DC 15 Strength saving throw. On a failed save, it drops one object of your choice it is holding.
