Turkey is absolutely my favorite meat. It’s delicious in sammiches, in soup, for thanksgiving, it’s super savory and sweet. I’d have Turkey instead of chicken AND beef any day. The only problem is we can’t get a Turkey too big cause it has to fit in a Pyrex dish

Y'all, Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday for food, and lemme just say these tips: SALT BRINE the turkey. You slap that birdy in a thick coat of salt and you let it sit in the fridge in a pot for 2 days before cooking. Then you gotta use FRESH rosemary, garlic and sage, idk what you doing if you don't. Bake it, fry it, whatever, it's going to be the most tender and juicy turkey you've ever eaten. You gotta use white wine and broth and shit to smother that baby during a baking process. Then, mashed potatoes with sour cream and rosemary. Some STUFFING, cheap stuff, slice up some garlic and onions and throw it in there. Brown gravy. I can't take this Thanksgiving hate anymore. Will is correct - SKILL ISSUE 👏👏

Also went into it thinking it would be a funny kids movie (my not so friendly friend tricked my into thinking it was), only I realized I wasn't in a safe space when they killed the dog. I couldn't watch it anymore, and had to hide under a blanket because he refused to turn it off. I've never been able to watch it since.

Dude everyone shits on the Prequels. But the Prequels are the best Trilogy of the Star Wars movies. I loved them as a kid. Love them every re-watch. Rewatched them with the wife (her first watch!) and she agrees the prequels are the best. I have so many issues with the original Trilogy. Episode 6 is honestly boring to me. You know what has more problematic messages than Rick and Morty? Twilight. What has worse real-world consequences and pain and suffering of actual people? Wrestling. What is more ridiculous, over the top, shock schlock for the sake of being edgy? Warhammer 40K. To piggy back off of Anthony's comment about doctors denying the tube tying surgeries under a certain age: in 2015 I was diagnosed with stage III breast cancer with my cancer growth being fuel by hormones. I was denied by THREE DOCTORS to remove my ovaries, even after my oncologist team wrote the recommendation. I was 23. Their reason? They thought that I might want kids with the 15% chance that gave me to become pregnant post-cancer. One also sited that they were Catholic and didn't see this as a life saving procedure 🙃 American healthcare, y'all!

Hearing that beth doesn’t like green bean casserole makes me think her family just uses a bad recipe, I wasn’t really a fan of it until me and my wife tried this recipe that we found online that has like biscuits crumbled through it, and it’s 🔥. Same thing with the turkey, I wet brine it overnight, spatchcock it and then get that skin all nice and crispy, but all the meat is incredibly tender and juicy. Idk if every white persons family was like this, but they didn’t use spices, maam it’s not the 1700’s we have incredible access to spices, use that shit. The curry sounds great I’ll have to try that

One more note can more of you please be on dropout. I loved your um actually episodes and Freddie’s time on D20. My idea for a D20 campaign is “oops all DMs” Anthony, Will, Brennan, Mercer, Aabria, Murph, Griffin McElroy, etc are the players and you get someone who has never been a DM/GM to run the game such as Freddie or Hank Green or each episode you rotate who is the DM/GM. Edit: I just wanted to add. I’m from MN and grew up in the deep north (Duluth). I can confirm that Freddie is dialing in the accent. I’ve heard people talk with a very similar style and accent in MN. It’s more rare in the bigger towns and cities. Lots of rural areas you will hear someone sound very similar but not exactly what Freddie is doing. I say Freddie is getting closer each episode. Freddie is not to far off from a rural MN Norwegian/Swedish accent. The fish dish Freddie was thinking of is called lutefisk. My grandparents made it for us every Christmas. I prefer Lefse.

In my mind Event Horizon was the space movie with the giant bugs (Starship Troopers). I was curious after Will's off-handed remark, Kahn is voiced by Toby Huss who is also Artie in "The Adventures of Pete and Pete". I'm not Laotian, but as a mixed-race asian I don't find the portrayal problematic. I'm not a scholar of these matters, nor KotH in particular but I wouldn't be surprised if the team was fairly self-aware. They tell a number of precarious stories about race, Hank's half brother is an incredible arc, and often come up to and carefully cross "the line" only to underscore Hank's fundamental decency and indefatigable humanity.

Talking about anti heros/rick&morty, I think the biggest thing is people not understanding the difference between liking a character AS A CHARACTER and liking them AS A PERSON. Liking characters that are bad people/make terrible choices is absolutely okay and normal, but people will start defending literal war crimes because they’re that loyal to a fictional character. Sometimes a character is interesting and horrible, and that’s genuinely fine, but remember they’re a character who has done bad things.

First movie that made me go "Oh wow, this is hot garbage"? 101 Dalmatians live action with our boy Glenn Close, I mean our girl. I remember as a 9 year old being very disappointed that the dogs didn't talk and the acting was overall terrible. My sister and I left the theatre halfway through.

I made Cuban picadillo every year for my friendsgiving. Old family recipe and it’s super good. My friends agents bring Texas Roadhouse sides and rolls as well. And my mom mashed French silk pie bites. Super good. This year for actual thanksgiving we made hot turkey sandwiches and it was amazing
