I love that the others wouldn’t allow the season to end on a tearful goodbye and pulled Dude onto the dance floor with them. I’m really going to miss these characters just as much as I missed the original Dads. Sending love to you all! 2024-12-02 23:12:16 +0000 UTCIf anything this was better in the sense they had a much more even fight, last season had like 100 elephants, 2 dragons, a giant zombie kid, a crab mech driven by a bullywog, 2 and a half demon lords, a rock concert, and a nuke, to name a few. They even mentioned how the finale went off without a hitch in their wrap up, this one seemed a little more like they could've died. Both were awesome, kudos for whatever people like, at the end of the day it's down to a roll of the dice

Now I’ve switched careers due to gun violence in my school, and returned to listen to the teens sing it after the 2024 election cause I remembered how powerful it felt to hear these characters commit to getting back up and say “not today”. I feel incredibly lucky to have found this podcast on a whim 4 years ago. Literally googling “good D&D podcasts to listen to”. I just want everybody on the D&Dads team to know that your piss jokes helped me through some seriously hard years; and will continue to help me through hard years to come.

This was my favorite season by far I love it so much!!! Excited to keep listening to season 3 I can’t wait to see all of the jokes it was a little bit to much piss though like Beth said lol. I just love this podcast so much please keep doing it. It means so much to me and has gotten me out of slumps. I was def one of those people at first who listened to the first half and then lost interest but once I got over myself and accepted the change I realized how good it actually is. So Willy could not use a Legendary Resistance on it. Now, on his turn he can use an action to attempt a Wisdom save to stop dancing, and he could use his Legendary Resistance on that, but it should have cost him an action. :V Seriously though, great finale. But they were VERY much pushing this narrative that forensic accountants are total badasses tracking down terrorist cells and jumping out of helicopters and shit. One of my professors mostly did divorce asset valuation and he even tried to make THAT sound cool and dangerous because like….you might piss someone off and they’ll ice you.

The improv was top notch as always, and the season was really funny, but I super appreciate what Anthony did with Dude -- like, a little non-binary sad guy with big emotions, they end up as the emotional center of the story. 😢 💖 I think this season really pushed against the usual kind of D&D power fantasy and showed that campaigns can really successfully tell different types of stories. Kudos to everyone involved! (But man, there was a lot of piss, lol.)

Season 1 ended with such a bang. 100ft tall Payton, the mom's coming back with the odyssey.... all of it honestly. But not all campaigns end the same. And reading these comments..... It’s akin to Khan’s death being boiled down to a recycled ship explosion without the satisfaction of seeing the moment Khan realizes he’s lost. And as I writer myself, I feel bad for Anthony—he was very clearly trying to make this final moment as emotionally powerful as the prior season. But, I mean, that’s DnD—you’re at the mercy of your players. Still, I can’t be the only one wishing we’d at least seen Ron’s reaction to the end of Willy
