When we were little kids, my bro and I spent one Christmas season "investigating the mystery of Santa". We'd pretend to analyze the "fingerprints" of letters we got from "Santa" and compare them against other letters from our parents. It was lots of fun! Thanks for unlocking that core memory!

2023-12-28 05:36:59 +0000 UTCGrowing up I actually discovered my dad making our Christmas toys through a peep hole in the basement stairs with my brother, my brother is only 16 months older than me, but he still saved Santa for me by doing something similar, he said my dad is our Santa, because he’s really good at making toys, so he contracts some of the work out to carpenters. (I also believe this is why Jesus’ birthday was aligned with Santa- carpentry.)

Her work deserves a dissertation, but short version, Beth is a genius storyteller, it is so very good and I've not stopped thinking about it. There is a little glimpse into the mind of the person who can think so fast and round corners that characters like Ron and Scary can become all time greats in my life and the light and dark behind that. I can also 100% guarantee that this has and will continue to help people.

2023-12-27 03:24:33 +0000 UTCI started playing Santa when I was in high school and kept it going with newer costume bits over the years, especially when my sister had kids and “Santa” would show up to drop off some last minute (and often highly requested, similar to Matt with Dorothy’s desire for a cougar stuffy) special gifts every year. This year my 6 yr old nephew figured it out, but wants to keep the secret going for his little sister while he still seems to believe in a “Santa” with the exception that myself and others who dress up are akin to Santa’s helpers. After the brief conversation he and I had about his discovery, he then proceeds to do the little Santa nose tap to me after we agree to keep the secret safe and I swear I almost broke down crying 🥹

We're gonna make Santa out to be a "spirit of Christmas" kind of thing, and when he finally does figure it out, he's gonna get to 'become' Santa also, if that makes sense. I'm excited for him to help us 'be Santa' for future kids
