2025-12-24 19:38:51 +0000 UTCWorked for a major clothing retailer off and on for 11 years — if we got returns we could not re-sell (i.e. washed, damaged, etc.), they got thrown out. It was so incredibly wasteful. (While I'm on that soapbox, I'm sure people know this, but if you ever get asked for a donation at check out and it is NOT a thrift store/non profit, just donate to the original organization directly. Otherwise the corporation gets the tax credit.)

Probably two weeks pass and I get a message on Facebook from a random girl saying she found my ID at the crawl and instead of giving it to the bar, she took it home and had it in her wallet for weeks but had forgotten about it until now. Drove to her house to pick it up and she was so sweet but it was such a weird experience.

When it opened she just asked "did you find an iPhone 12 at X yesterday?", and the dude immediately got defensive like "uh no, who the fuck are you?". So she raises her iPad and says "okay so if I call my phone right now I wont hear it ringing inside your house? My sister is waiting in the car and shes a police officer (which is true) just so you know", and then she hit call. She sees her phone light up with her ringtone and all on a table like 30 feet behind the guy and he fucking says "oh THAT iPhone, yeah of course you can have it back." That woman have bigger balls than I do.

2025-04-16 10:09:30 +0000 UTCI’m not sure Anthony worked retail. Clothes don’t get washed when they’re returned, just put back on the shelf as long as they meet criteria. If they’re stained and/or ruined they’ll get thrown out but that’s it.

He was too lazy to go himself, so he sent Beth to get a bunch of sizes as he wasn't sure what it would be? He tries them on, and sends her to return all of them, and get 5 pairs of the size he fits, bc he only will wear a pair of pants once. It barely makes sense, but that's like the only conclusion I could come to

The two that come to mind are once I went to a H.I.M. concert and wore solid white from head to toe. I did not know going in, but they filmed a live music video that night and as they pan the crowd. For a split second you can see a little white dot in the sea of black. The other was a midnight release for the final Harry Potter book. I bought the book, sat down in front of the registers in front of a huge line of people, opened to the last page and stared at the blank page at the end for about a minute. Then, to a crowd of horrified people staring at me I just yelled, "hey guys guess what!?". The screams couldn't have been louder.

I was at the theaters watching Endgame, and throughout the movie a group of teenage girls kept talking, screaming, and wailing at every moment. For the first hour I endured it (hey, kids will be kids) but at the moment Iron Man dies, they were the loudest I've ever heard a human being be. Now, I'm severely lactose Intolorant and had unknowingly eaten dairy earlier in the day (I feel your pain Beth) so I had been holding in a fart that was tearing me up, but I wanted to be polite. Now by the time these girls had reached the peak of scream crying I had had it..... I let loose the most tyrannical, demonic, oppressive, and hate fueled fart I have ever endured. I have never laughed harder in my life seeing these girls react with pure horror as my hate wafted there way..... Best movie of my life

2023-07-14 11:54:10 +0000 UTCI dunno, I do think Erin deserved half the money. She was only in that situation because the dads put her in it and she even ended up dying during the fight. I think she's been a really good sport considering she's always helping them out giving them info and direction. I think it was the honourable thing to do to recognise what she did for them and to give her half. She ended up setting up her nature reserve with it and everything so ultimately that money also went to saving all the people her and her trees would have displaced in like Barovia or wherever if she hadn't gotten it. Like the dads ended up potentially saving a lot of people by doing that. I don't know, maybe greed as a trait really squicks with me and I don't see the point in being clutchy with money when you already have so much. I also really love Erin so admittedly I'm super biased. I know this episode is super old but I'm having a fun spree re listening to them. :)
