why does Shellder latch onto Slowpoke's tail to evolve... I'm completely sure there's no bigger mysteries in the Pokemon world... no aliens... no pokemon that communicate with spirits, no ancients beings of legends, nope, nope, just... why does a shellfish clamp onto a tail. eh, to be fair Pokemon were a bit more basic in the first gen, before things started getting wilder. I've said it before, but Kanto is a pretty rural region in the Pokemon world, mostly because it was the first game for the original Gameboy, and it was made in the 90s, so it's not as advanced or well developed culturally as later regions. Honestly some places we'll see later in the series are quite gorgeous looking.
