Oberyn is such a good character that he actually fills the void of losing Robb, Catelyn, and the Northern Army.

According to her family's history, Dany knows, in the books at least, that it's customary for a dragon to have a rider, as they will only really listen to one person they have acknowledged at a time. I believe this is about the time when she starts looking for potential candidates to ride her dragons (or at least 2 of them, since she'd likely ride 1 herself) once they've grown big enough to ride. After all, Aegon the Conqueror rode the humongous Balerion the Black Dread and his sisters the other 2 they had. And she likely sees herself as a parallel to him.
Perhaps another interesting storyline that is strictly book-only is that Catelyn was actually revived by Beric (the one who was brought back 6 times) giving her his seventh life. But the way she comes back is really creepy. She becomes vengeful and merciless, and her looks match that disposition. Quote from the Wiki: "Her appearance has been altered as well, due to her corpse being submerged in river water for days. Her flesh has become soft as pudding and turned the color of curdled milk, with grey-green mottling and brown blooms of decay. Half of her hair is gone, and the rest is white, dry and brittle. Her eyes look like two red pits, burning in the shadows. Additionally, her wounds have not healed; her face is shredded, hanging in ragged strips from her eyes to her jaw, either crusted with dried blood or gaping open to reveal the skull beneath. Her throat is still slit open. To speak, she must pinch closed her slashed throat; even then her voice is difficult to understand, sounding like a combination of a croak, wheeze, and death rattle."

Dany's dragon lashing out on her reminded me a bit of Charizard disobeying Ash.

If you like Tyrion as I'm sure you do, Season 4 is probably his best season not just in terms of humour but also drama and conflict. He was always one of my favourite characters but Season 4 solidified him as the best character for me. Can't wait to see how you'll react.

It was either that or she is faking menopause to avoid marrying Loras. Qyburn is probably giving her some form of medication to fake the symptoms.

That sword Tywin had melted down and reforged into two swords was Eddard's Valyrian great sword, "Ice". Fun fact for you; House Lannister lost its own Valyrian sword a long time ago; each great house has a single Valyrian sword that was given to them by Aegon after they swore allegiance to him.
I don't think the show explains it, but the reason Jaime is even in the King's Guard was because Aerys aka The Mad King was a vindictive and petty man. Tywin was his hand and the two were friends, but had a falling out. Out of spite, Aerys forced Jaime to become a King's Guard, thus denying Tywin his prized heir. Tywin wants Jaime to forsake The King's Guard, but Jaime refuses because he does want to at least hold onto something he can say he stood by given all the shame he carries being an oath breaker/king slayer.
Pedro Pascal as Oberyn is such an awesome casting choice. I fuggin love Oberyn. Dood came to King's Landing with a purpose. Much as I am a Lannister fanboy, Oberyn gives them a run for their money.
Daario was also recasted as the original actor could not participate due to him filming Deadpool. The guy who replaces the original actor is better imo.
Thenns are scary mofos. I mean you know a group is scary when they get their own theme song.
The guy Jon Snow mocked for being bad at the City Watch Commander is Janos Slynt. Tyrion sent him to The Wall for betraying Eddard Stark and the murders of Robert Baratheon's bastard children. We have not seen him since early Season 2.

I'm not sure if this is true or not, just some things I was picking up while re-watching this with you but I think the show has been hinting to us that Cersei might have been previously pregnant. While Jamie was away Cersei had been getting busy with Lancel, Margery when trying to complement her one episode told her she looked "Radient" Cersei gets defensive when responding to her. Here in this episode she is talking to Qyburn in front of Jamie and they're subtly talking about certain symptoms he managed to take care off. When Jamie asks about them she brushes him off saying it's not something he needs to concern himself with, given that he is her lover it sounds more like something she doesn't want him to know. Also when he tries to get busy with her she has an outburst and tells him he took too long. First time I watched I just assumed she was just being a Bitch to him but something more could have been going on. She is still a Bitch though.

Season 4 is in my opinion, Game of Thrones strongest season. Buckle up
