This fact wasn't enough to convince Damian to keep it, but he was impressed when it completed the impossible feat of roughing up the almighty Team Rocket. The difference being, the trainer in the 4th region, while a dick, doesn't lie to his Pokemon if he think they suck. While Damien only shows interest in Charmander once it shows power, this character is more honest in his approach, despite being an ass, and at times has a point that even Ash can see, despite differences in philosophy. Plus he isn't a bitch when he gets his ass handed to him
