I completely agree with you, honestly it probably is because it's a passion project for the studio, I've seen a few of the little behind the scenes things for the remake and everyone involved just seems so excited.

2024-11-22 19:35:46 +0000 UTCI've been loving the remake so far, like it's honestly amazing just how much better it's been than the original anime, I have a soft spot for the original, but it's not exactly a great adaptation with the liberties they took, Akane is so much more likeable in the remake, like she is in the manga. Artwork, pacing, choreography, voice direction, the remake is a major improvement in everyway. Looking at some of the viewership statistics I can find, it's safe to say we'll probably see the full manga adapted this time instead of less than half. It's the adaptation the series deserves. Oh, also I do agree on you about Ranma's female voice Megumi is an amazing voice actress, and she's having so much fun coming back to the role. Just to give you an idea of how much better the pacing is in this remake then the original anime... this episode covers the same manga chapters as episode 2 and 3 of the original combined. the brisker pacing fits Rumiko Takahashi's style of action and comedy so much better.
