Not only that they share some of the same English voice actors as well. The person who voices Misty also voices Princess Charlotte and the person who voices Ash also voices young Griffith in his flash back scenes.

2024-11-21 14:51:00 +0000 UTCSo I'm bringing the lore side to this episode, basically this could never happen in the games, Geodude and onix are both rock ground type pokemon, with ground being immune to electric type (meaning they won't ever deal any damage) so no matter how much he super charged his Pikachu, it shouldn't have been able to hurt either geodude or onix. But this is jjust me explaining how the games work lol. It is an anime so many MANY liberties are taken lol.

Brock's mum didn't die, she abandoned her family sometime after Flint left, the dub changed it because a mother abandoning her family was too much for some reason? When they change dubbing company later in the series they fix it.
