2024-09-14 13:05:36 +0000 UTCOh wow, this was a great surprise, Apothecary Diaries is one of my favourite newer manga series, you'll love Maomao as a character, and the artwork is gorgeous. Also if you were wondering, the whole thing with how the Chinese inner palace is set up and the 1,000 eunuchs is historically accurate. There was actually a poll recently in Japan of the most popular manga series, for men it was Frieren, and for women it was The Apothecary Diaries, just to give you an idea of the quality. Little background on the series, it started off as a light novel series, then a manga and finally this anime adaptation, the artwork in the manga is gorgeous as well, the artist just got away with tax fraud of like a quarter of a million dollars for not paying her income tax properly for the last few years funnily enough, she's very like Maomao in ways, she only has to pay a fine for some years and go through an accountant and she'll be fine lol, she's still the mangaka for the manga adaptation thankfully.
