HANEYAMA THE PIMP! - Baki 3x16

Oliva and Shibukawa together take away the show for me each, let alone together. My girlfriend even made me an oil painting of that exact 'broken wrist' moment as a birthday present😂 I think it's just a slice-of-life part you see in the manga as stand-alone chapters every so often, though I could sit happy watching Oliva's Judo Journey for an entire season lmao.

Well put.

Yea, I thought I was missing something, too.

That would at least make some semblance of sense, but is kinda bizarre no matter how it’s sliced.

Okay correct me if im wrong but i think the whole point of the author having characters mess with baki and kozue is so that baki is able to release his thoughts and feelings about kozue since most of the time he never says anything on his own to progress the relationship. I think hanayama was also testing the two of them to see how they would react to how absurd his offer was (kozue most of the time doesn't get to say her mind but this time she was provoked enough to speak). Think about it, it shows alot to be offered extremely beautiful women but baki would rather stick with the girl next door because she truly cares about him and vice versa.

Yeah, the entire conversation with Haneyama felt so out of place, I thought I missed an episode or something when I first saw it.

The show has some awesome fights and some awful romance.

Casual Biscuit

Could be.

Tomorrow Curtis and Baki look in the eyes

Personal opinion the focus on Oliver was to set up a power dynamic. At this point knowledge on Oliver is extremely limited, compared to other characters who we have seen in the prior series.

SmartGamer 1923

Probably because he's seen baki actively look weak and slack off while in a ongoing fight with the prisoners. He also Probably views baki as a rival or a goal of sorts.
