Take your adventurers for a spin in an ever-changing climate, with each part of this three-part map series featuring a new illusory setting, here with a pose of new dangers in Monster Menagerie!
This map-series is a special one—with help from the one and only Fluffy Folio! In this exciting collaboration we’re tackling the Menagerie together. While we do the maps, The Fluff is up to snuff with a cohesive monster for each of this series’ maps.
Here’s the (final) third part.
“From a dense jungle to a vortex-ridden desert, the missing caretaker was nowhere to be found. You return to the noblewoman's estate disappointed and severely exhausted. She suddenly remembers, "ah, the cliffs, that's where he was last!" She follows up on her oblivious act, saying: "Silly old me, it must've slipped my mind." As if your party hadn't just nearly lost your life countless times, she shrugs off her incompetency with a smile.
You once again open the wooden door and are this time confronted with a cliff that towers beyond forests and clouds. A big gulp is all you manage to let out, considering your fear of heights. You gather your courage and look ahead, where there's a nest of wiggly creatures swarming within their eggs. And in the midst of that, a halfling caretaker too scared to move stands between eggs that each tower over him by a few feet. Luckily he must've not been seen as food, instead, he must've been mistaken as brood.
The broodmother is not in sight and you and your party tread carefully towards the nest in an attempt to carefully extract the caretaker. And just as you thought this nightmare of a quest was ending, a gust of hail and wind blows across the cliff and a large monstrosity appears from the clouds! She carries with her a yak weighing at least 1100 pounds and upon seeing her nest's infiltrators readies herself to fling the hefty yak at you.”
~ I’m hoping you enjoy these maps as much as we like making them. Stay tuned for the new series next month.
