This scene with August dying hit me really hard. Mavis and Zeref didn‘t know they had a child and won‘t know it either..

2024-05-17 21:22:13 +0000 UTCAugust canceled his spell when he saw Mavis. He could not commit to killing her, so he basically cast the spell on himself to prevent her from dying. I do feel for the guy since his dying wish was just to be held by his mother, Mavis, just once. He died with neither of his parents knowing he was their son. Between him and Irene, our antagonists deserve some sympathy especially since some of them have redeeming qualities. August was after all a paternal figure to Brandish.
