Toriyama had been the lead artist for the Dragon Quest series since the franchise started nearly 40 years ago now (he was also involved in the writing for at least the early ones as well), it's insane how many huge series he's responsible for. Just to give you an idea how huge Dragon Quest is in Japan, one of the producers of the series confirmed during an interview for 11 that after DQ3 came out the Japanese Police went to Square Enix (just Enix at the time) to ask them to not release any future Dragon Quest game on a weekday, because too many people were skipping work or school on release day just to play the series, that's the power Toriyama and Dragon Quest had lol.
