June Development Update
Added 2021-06-22 01:39:02 +0000 UTCSince Hydra launched, my main focus has been platform stability and quality of service. The past weeks I've been fixing bugs, and improving our error tracking infrastructure so that I can more easily find, diagnose, and remedy more bugs on my side of things. Today's update should help me a lot with catching a lot of the smaller, sporadic bugs in the LK client.
Now that I'm out of crisis mode from Hydra launch, I figured it'd be good to give a blurb on my current development plans.
Short term roadmap
First, error monitoring data has started rolling in from this update, and I'll be using this information to find and prioritize the next set of bug fixes. Once I've gotten any major bugs taken care of, my immediate development focus is 1) public share links, and 2) improved editor.
Public share links
I think this one's straightforward. You have content, you want to share it! Google docs or Notion-style public sharing links would be a great fit for LegendKeeper wiki pages; as of now, there's still significant friction when you're just trying to share a simple piece of content like a template or item description.
Entire public project-sharing is still on the map as well, though share links for individual pages will come first. Public project sharing is really interesting to me; if you're interested in that, what kind of stuff will you use it for? Easier sharing with players? Sharing with an audience? Would love to hear about it.
Improved editor
The editor has taken us a long way, but it's definitely a primary source of friction in the app. Since word processing should be LK's bread and butter, it's clear that the current editor isn't adequate for an app of LK's desired caliber. Tables are especially finicky. I will be improving the editor with more cutting edge, custom-tailored technology that should be way nicer to use, and way easier for me to extend and work with. Along the way, I'll be fixing the numerous bugs and quality-of-life requests for text editing in LK.
Onward
I'm really relieved to be working on updates much, much *smaller* than Hydra. π All of this paves the way for the next major update, Community, which will introduce a content sharing hub and import/export/duplicate features for projects.
Following that is more flagship features, like timelines and relations. We have also re-prioritized mobile UI to be higher on our list. While I'm unable to share its exact priority among everything, the need for mobile UI has only grown as LK sees larger and larger adoption.
Anyways, thanks for sticking it out through the Hydra update! And I appreciate your support! I hope to make LK better and better and better and better!

P.S.
One interesting thing about Hydra is the server is around 10x more compute and memory efficient than pre-Hydra LK. Late tonight or tomorrow you may experience some brief connection disruption as I *scale down* our infrastructure. This is pretty amazing... Hydra is faster and will actually save us money. βΊοΈ
