What's coming in the Fates mega-update.

Hey folks! I appreciate your patience while this update is in development. I'm in the last two weeks of my dayjob, and we're launching a huge update to our 300K+ user dating app today and tomorrow. (Though I'm not sure how much dating is gonna be done over the next few weeks...) COVID19 has locked down our office in Dallas, and I had to work on my employer's app over the weekend. So needless to say the past few days have been kinda insane. I hope you are staying safe and healthy and making good decisions! Stay inside and worldbuild!

Despite all this, the update is still coming along well, and by the end of next week I'll no longer have to juggle these two jobs anymore. I can't tell you how excited I am to fully focus on LK! The wait is driving me crazy!

As a little teaser for Fates, I figured I'd list out some of the stuff that's coming. This update is enormous and has a ton of QoL improvements. LK is starting to look like what Justin and I have in our heads, and we're really excited to share it with you.

What's coming:

A new themeable UI, rewritten from the ground up with a lot more consistency and a strong focus on usability. It'll ship with both a Light and Dark mode, with more themes to come in the future. It has the same workflow as the current UI, so don't worry about your workflows needing to change. It's the same/improved experience with a fresh coat of paint.

A brand new editor. Editing will be all-inline; no more opening a dialog box and losing your place. The editor has many improvements:

- Table editor, with column resizing, cell split/merge, cell coloring, numbered-columns, and easier add/remove row/column controls.

- Callout panels, that allow you to create a colored box decorated with an icon.

- Expansion panels, that let you embed content and then collapse the block and give it a title to save space.

- Links can be edited after creating.

- Dates can be inserted from a calendar picker.

- Better shortcuts and a help menu.

- Checkboxes.

- A custom block extension system (for internal use, for now). This will be a major extension point for LegendKeeper going forward.

Tabs. Articles will support multiple custom tabs which can each have their own document and hidden state. Use tabs to isolate your DM notes, or separate an article out into broad topics, like "History", "Stats", or anything else you can think of.

Properties, a new feature that allows you to customize the right-sidebar of every article. Using properties, you can add/remove/change an article's map and image, as well as decide if an article should have a Tags section, a Mentioned In section, etc. More properties are coming, such as a sidebar table of contents, infoboxes, relationships, and a lot more. This will become a major extension point.

Filter controls. The wiki sidebar filter will support matching ANY (logical OR, for the nerds), or ALL (logical AND) tags, as well as two results display modes: Tree mode, which displays results in a tree, and List mode, which displays the results in a flat list.

And a handful of other things I'll leave as a surprise. :)

Hang in there peeps! Let me know if you have any questions.

Braden
