My issue with Bluenote is that he gets hyped up as this unstoppable force, which kind of works, but then he ends up squaring with FT's equivalent of Shanks. It;s like you need one overpowered character to take out another one. There is no sense of overcoming odds, just a deus ex machina in Gildarts, not that I dislike Gildarts and I am glad the series does not use him all that often as a get out of jail free card. I think I am beginning to revise my opinion of Seis vs Grimoire. With the Seis they were humanized and I did not fully hate any of them minus Brain/Zero; both because I am supposed to and because Zero was just a boring brute. I still like Azuma, Rose, Ultear, and Hades, and I do feel for Meredy, since she was brainwashed as a child, but the rest are just one note characters with static personalities.

2023-10-26 01:47:05 +0000 UTC1. The concept of knowing many different kinds of magic is interesting, but for some reason the main cast is pretty limited in that regard. Jellal could cast Abyss Break, which is comprised of all 4 elemental magics, meaning he had those mastered, and obviously Makarov has his signature Giant magic but also Fairy magic. For the most part though, fights normally come down to one type of magic vs. another type, and I find a lot of potential in-between to be missed. 2. Bluenote shitting on the hype of the main characters always brings a smile to my face in a show so cookie-cutter most of the time. I also find his dub voice to be much cooler and sonorous than the sub, which is a belief I share with most of the dub voices in this show.

He cares about the progression of the younger wizards and feels they've been robbed of an opportunity that they were worthy of. Also if Gildarts returned then there is a chance Freed and Bickslow are as well. The reinforcements hath arrived!
