INSANELY POWERFUL MOVIE! - LOTR: Return Of The King, Part 3

Comments

Eowyn killing the Felbeast and The Witchking was a badass moment for her! She also killed the most powerful of The Nazghul, with help of course from Merry, but still. I cry everytime I see Theoden die. The Battle of The Pelannor Fields is easily the bloodiest battle of The War of The Ring. Both sides suffered crushing casualties. Gimli's line about Aragorn's plan always chuckles me up too. XD Aragorn tried to flex his sword, but Sauron flexed what he will lose. I love Aragorn, but Sauron got the better end of that exchange. 3:10:45 The ring was literally trying to make the orcs aware that it was there. It was crushing down on Frodo. Unfortunately for the Dark Lord, his servants are not the brightest. I love Aragorn's last stand speech. I used it in a video I did way back where it was me in Warhammer Total War as The Empire of Man and The Dwarfs vs The Warriors of Chaos. The battle was kind of a let down(We won kind of easily), but it felt awesome giving the speech! "I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you! Come on!" Such an epic line from Sam! The Eagles seldom ever interfere in conflicts among others, but to see them show up here was a big "woah!" Sadly in the end, The Ring did corrupt Frodo. When Sauron detected it he was all "The ring? It's at Mt. Doom? NAZGHUL! GET THE FUCK OVER THERE!!!" Supposedly and allegedly, Gandalf brought a third eagle for Gollum/Smeagol. Idk if this is a fan headcanon or not. "My friends you bow to no one" Breaks me every time. I'm glad you enjoyed this film series. Looking forward to more Harry Potter and whatever else you have in store!

I've got other stuff already planned next, but the Hobbits may be coming up.

I would have liked to have seen the Scourging of the Shire. It's a nice capstone for the Hobbits' journey, but I can understand why it was cut. They had more than enough stuff to cram in, and the one really important incident could easily be relocated to the start of RotK. Still, for the sake of Curtis and anyone else who hasn't read the books, the TL;DR version is Saruman took over the Shire, everyone was suffering, Hobbits come back, raise a rebellion, Wormtongue kills Saruman in Frodo's living room, and gets shot by hobbit archers trying to flee.

Harold Haddick

The most powerful moment in the whole story to me is when Aragorn bowed to the hobbits. It not only cemented him as my favorite character, but it was a terrific example of humility and respect.

I think I've seen you get more emotional watching these movies than I have with any of the other anime scenes. I'm thinking that this may have even beat out Meruem and Komigi's last gungi game in HxH or Naruto saying goodbye to his mom and dad for pulling on your heartstrings. I'm glad you enjoyed the films! Any plans for The Hobbit trilogy, or did you want to get a few other movies in before doing another series?

Jarrod Atkins

I must be getting soft since I hit 30 cause I actually got a bit choked up at the end and I've seen these a lot. Don't pay too much time to the grievances people have between the books and movies. None of them hurt any part of the story or are any better. Same with stuff left out. If they put everything people wanted this would be another 3 movies still 3+hours each, actually what am I saying I'd take more of this. I'd be up for the hobbit like chrome and storms target said definitely worth. It's cgi heavy compared to this but that's expected a decade later. Why spend the money on travel and sets and red tape when you can use green screen. And I mean more Gandolf who could say no. Now imma go watch the office to get mad at Ryan and feel like an emotionless man again.

Psychostalker

"My friends ... you bow to no one." instant tearjerker for me. And the farewells at the harbor... 😭 I don't think I have EVER BEFORE seen you being this touched as you were while watching this part of the movie. 😅

V_VMat

I completely understand the sentiment! 😊

Spaz Boys Comedy

That's VERY cool!

Spaz Boys Comedy

I've been seriously considering trying out gameplays at the YT channel in streams. I REALLY want more LOTR in my life! 😊

God damn... can't believe you had me crying again at this film, but this was the closest I'm getting to watching it again for the first time same with the Harry Potter movies! What can you say especially to those final scenes?? I would definitely give the Hobbit Trilogy a watch as Chrome said. I would also STRONGLY recommend after watching that playing the Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War games that are set between The Hobbit and LotR, two truly amazing games that have have an amazing take on bridging the gap. Also the gameplay is AMAZING in my opinion, but feel free to put it to a vote to see if there would be interest this is just my opinion after all

The reason Frodo left with Gandalf was because in addition to his shoulder wound and poisoning by Shelob the spider, the Ring itself also left a permanent scar of Frodo's soul, and if he stayed in Middle Earth he would begin to slowly wither away. By taking the ship to Valinor, he spared his friends having to watch this fate happen, and could also be healed by the Valar.

"I can't carry it for you, but i can carry you!" breaks me every single time, and i've done, god i don't even know, over a dozen rewatches of this trilogy? Probably more. Its a helluva powerful line, as is "You bow to no one". Wtf am i saying, the entire trilogy is powerful, my only regret is that i can't experience it for the first time again Also, i cannot recommend enough that you should also see the Hobbit movies, they're a little less impactful than LOTR in my opinion, and a little more strung out, but very worth watching. especially to see our old Gandalf again A few post ending tidbits about the rest of the gang: Eowyn and Faramir got together, consumating a great alliance between Rohan and Gondor. Gimli and Legolas continued travelling together, doing favors for the new King, they remained such great friends that eventually, they built their own ship and set sail for the Undying Lands, to where Gandalf and Frodo went. Gimli is the only dwarf ever to be allowed to venture there, due to his friendship with Legolas. Sam ended up having 13 children, and became mayor of the Shire for many decades, i think he even hosted Aragorn a few times, or was it vise versa The Dwarves regained control of Moria, with the Balrog dead it was finally possible to do so, they crowned their new 'reborn' King, Durin the 7th, and their kingdoms prospered.

Beautiful

Lord of the Rings is honestly one of the greatest fantasy epics I've ever seen, you can really understand why it shaped so much of modern fantasy, Tolkien's writing is on another level entirely. I've not read the books (I want to eventually), but from what I understand Sam, Gimli and Legolas would eventually journey to see Frodo in the undying lands. I'd definitely recommend to watching the Hobbit films after this, it's a prequel set before The Lord of the Rings, telling Bilbo's story, it's actually the book Tolkien wrote before Lord of the Rings, but Lord of the Rings was obviously adapted first, also whatever you do avoid Amazon's "Rings of Power" show it's god awful, it's not actually based off of any of Tolkien's writing (Amazon didn't have the rights to middle earth or most of Tolkien's works only the appendices and a few other things) it cost them a billion dollars to make, they waited till after Tolkien's son passed away so he couldn't object to it and it's insultingly bad and very... "modern".

Ok this comment may be weird but when I saw this uploaded and when I saw your face I was all like "Oh yeah this is going to be fun." Which is kinda messed up since you look like your about to cry.

Darknaru

I wish I could forget these films and watch them for the first time again, I'm a little jealous of you lol. In my opinion, this is greatest story ever told. Nothing before or since has come remotely close to the beauty and emotional impact the lord of the rings has had for me. Every character a hero to aspire to be, every villain a warning for us to avoid. "I will not say: do not weep; for not all tears are an evil."

FantasiA

Fun fact, Sam’s daughter at the end Elanor (played by Sean Astin’s actual daughter Ali) the character grows up to be the fairest, most beautiful hobbit girl of all essentially. And becomes the personal handmaiden of Queen Arwen herself.

Some guy named Chris

I don’t remember what happens to everyone after this but here’s what I do remember: Along with the book Frodo also left Sam all of his property, and Sam would go on to have thirteen children and would serve seven consecutive seven year terms as mayor of the shire. That girl Sam holds at the end is actually Sean Astin’s real daughter. Later on, because he was technically a ring bearer he would be granted the same passage as frodo. Gimli and Legolas remained best bros for life and would later go on a road trip around middle earth together before building a ship and leaving middle earth as well.

Fritz

Helluva journey with you my friend. Glad I could revisit this masterpiece of a trilogy alongside you!!

Hamza

I could say a lot about this ending but the one thing I would like to point out is something that has always stuck with me. When Frodo got on that ship he turned and smiled at them and it was the happiest you see him since the beginning of the first movie. It's such a perfect expression and it gets me everytime. I don’t think he had been able to feel truly at peace since he was stabbed by the nazgul but when he steps on that ship it's like it all finally falls away and he can finally move on. It’s so beautiful and perfect and I must have seen these at least a dozen times but it never gets old.

Fritz

i could have sworn there was a potter crossover teamup.. hmmm . Now that youve seen everything. React to a fun little video you can find on youtube called the'yre taking the hobbits to isengard

Lyonheart86(BryonH)

Such great, powerful moments!

Spaz Boys Comedy

I cried when everyone bowed to the hobbits. Sam to me is the hero of this story.

Darryl Robson

😁😁

Spaz Boys Comedy

When everyone was bowing before the Hobbits, as they aught to be, Sam should have crossed his arms gangsta-style and shouted, "DAM STRAIGHT!" PS: Happy Labor Day!

Henchman Twenty1

So as much as I like the movies I think now is the time to nitpick while I still have them fresh in my memory really wish we would've gotten the scourging of the shire also not sure why they made Elrond antagonistic towards Aragorn he loves him like a son he even grew up in his household but other than some of the characters taking some hits to their rep I really wanted to see Glorfindel Tom Bombadil the sons of Elrond and the Dunedain think one of Aragorns cousins ends up joining with him in the books and they didn't have to depend on magic ghosts as much as the movie made it look they only helped with the pirates then Aragorn and friends went around the coast picking up allies and the people who wouldn't make it in time and they handled business on their own also Eomer is the one who gives that death speech after Theoden dies but I can live with those changes its not like the did a Death Note or Wheel of Time the movies are still great but it does worry me when I think of a Silmarillion adaptation

Daniel Gonzalez

"I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you!" most badass line in the movie from a gardener. Also all the Gimli and Legolas bro moments. The "power of friendship" trope is often done badly, but pretty much all the most emotional moments in this trilogy are the ones between friends.

J Johnson

Glad you were able to witness this amazing trilogy. It is clearly one of the the all time greatest in cinema history!
